Hey Brad awesome product! Just finished the install on my '12 and it took maybe 10-15 minutes. I just wanted to say thanks for a job well done....and thanks for the square adhesive pads!

I had the EXACT same problem. Cleaned my hood with acetone three times, It unstuck within a week. I ended up having to go get a bunch of little black sticky squares and tack it back up. I saw someone mention clear tape and a repair kit, what page is that on so I can go read about it. I love having the light in there I just hate that it fell down and that it has a bunch of little sticky squares holding it up instead of the nice clean install that was there.

Guys, after scrolling back through the posts, it would appear that I was the culprit...

I have honestly no idea how I made such an utterly stupid mistake, and offer my sincerest apologies for any delays that I may have caused. Please understand that this was completely unintentional, and in no way was I trying to jump the queue.

    Again, my apologies...

Get in touch with Brad, he helped me and I sprang for shipping on a repair kit. I had cleaned mine several (5-6x) times with denatured alcohol (recommended at the time) but had this issue. Agree that having the lighting and the nice clean install is awesome and appreciate the effort to put this kit out.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
Keep your eyes open for some updates. We're working on revamping a few things, including a cool logo and some swag, and providing a little more official clarity on installation and warranty. All purely administrative -- products are NOT changing.

But just to re-iterate an important warranty point in regards to mounting:
You MUST use Brakleen, acetone, or lacquer thinner when doing the final cleaning of the mounting surface. You can also use Windex, rubbing alcohol, your tongue, whatever -- just make sure the LAST cleaning stage involves one of the above-mentioned solvents (Brakleen is the best cleaner for anything anywhere anytime, btw! Except plastic).
The mounting surface MUST be at least 68*F. It is best to install on a warm, sunny day, preferably with the truck in the sun.
If the small piece of VHB at the transition from the loom to the LED strip became unattached, then proper surface preparation was not completed (the VHB has a red backing on it). Basically, if any part of the loom has fallen down, installation was not performed correctly.
If your strip becomes unattached due to a manufacturing defect (the adhesive is still on the hood, but the LED strip has fallen down), we will cover repairs completely free of charge. No need to send the strip back to us.
If your strip becomes unattached due to an installation defect (the adhesive is still on the LED strip, and the mounting surface has nothing attached to it, and/or any part of the loom has fallen down), we will be happy to ship you a repair kit for the cost of parts and shipping. No need to send the strip back to us.
To have an adhesive repair kit shipped to you, simply contact Brad with a detailed pic or two of the back of the LED strip and the mounting surface it was attached to.

Thank you all for your support! We're really glad --and frankly, really surprised-- these lights have become such a huge hit.

If you are headed to Rock Therapy 2015 at the end of May, be sure to chat us up. You'll get a chance to see the very first original Hood Light (before the name AntiDark was even a passing thought), and get an idea of some of the evolution of these things.

    LOADING...
    Hey all,
Been juggling more than I could fit if I tried to write it on this whole page. Im on spring break, but still catching up on some school work. It looks like I have a couple of repair kits to ship out, orders to contact and a lot or work to do aside from this.
Like Shane mentioned, we're beginning to prod a but further with this whole LED hood light business thing.
This summer we are preparing to blow this thing up.
Personally, I've been sort of pushing to keep this thing on the down-low because frankly I didn't want to put myself in a situation where I couldn't hande the demand but I plan to change that on my summer break.
TacomaWorld has literally changed my life. From the people I have met and became friends with, to the experience and knowledge I have gained by working on my truck and following threads/how-to's, and eventually my own LED business.

Lots of things to balance here but to make it easier I will start shifting the weight toward a website that people can order through by using their CC's and what not.

Tacomaworld is the shit and I love it here. I love working with all you guys, nothing but friendly folks who want to help out and fuel their passion for working on their rigs by adding modifications like the Anti-Dark hood light kit. If anyone is going out to Moab this year for the Rock Therapy trip please say hi to us!

Will be getting back to this page in the morning to update. Stay tuned

Sooooo I just remembered that I forgot to tell you that I ordered my kit for my FRS, and I haven't taken pictures yet, but it works perfectly under the FRS hood. Thank you again for 2 badass kits!

Before I throw my name on the list, I was just curious if anyone has killed their battery with the hood open. It looks like an awesome product, but I am concerned that if the hood is open for a while the battery will die, and a few times of that and you are looking for a new battery.

I read a lot of this thread but have not come across this question. My apologies if has been answered somewhere in the middle.

    Thanks
