For most of my 30's, my bad cholesterol level was in the 300's. On meds it was 250 or so. Should be 100 or less. I will admit that when I went on the meds I did not make any other suggested changes.

With the weight loss I got it down to 62 and they took me off the statins. That is a huge thing for me. I was a heavy drinker most of my life till I was almost 29 and do not want to take something that works with the liver, as most of the statins do..plus in general the less prescription meds the better.

Now that said I'm not loyal to the Muscle Milk either, but short term it does have the low cholesterol which is a part of my need. What else would you recommend that would fit the bill for that?

Yeah, a lot of folks think all cholesterol is bad, when it's really just LDL (fatty meats, whole milks/creams/cheeses/ice creams, etc. It's bad to have high LDL.

HDL is the good cholesterol (oats, flax seeds, nuts, egg yolks). It's good to have high HDL

When a person has low HDL and/or high LDL levels, they build up triglycerides (fat), which raises the amount of fat in your arteries, which leads to heart attack/stroke.

Basically, if you're healthy and have higher levels of HDL than LDL, you're fine. As long as you're not eating ground beef and bacon for every meal, you should be fine.

Or just eat a shit-ton of Cheerios :notsure:

Sack, you must be spying on me haha..my breakfast every morning.

My HDL was a little low, but I have my physical in a few weeks so I'll have a more current number then. My doctor is gonna shit when he sees I dropped 65 pounds haha..

I do watch my diet as well..and with the ON, do you know what the breakdown of good-bad cholesterol is on the total percentage?

Think I've done something to my groin. Forgot about it until I went to do squats today. Thought I was going to die doing 175 :(

On another note, since I switched over to my cutting diet (last Tuesday) I'm down from 162 to 157.5. Honestly, losing a little quicker than I planned on, so I'm gonna try to up my calories a tick

The only time I've ever been over 160 was the last month.

I'd look like a telephone poll at 160

I only do cardio for heart-health...glad to see it's got weight-lifting benefits. I try to do 4 sessions per week, either pre or post-workout. I alternate between LISS (30 mins or so on the bike) & HIIT (usually a quick tabata workout)
