I read it somewhere that people said the truck would get a salvage tite but I don't think that is true as it was a warranty replacement.

No salvage title here. Not sure how they could do that without buying it back.

Curious if anyone has had a frame replaced at Team Toyota (Langhorne) or Thompson in SE PA?

So I took my truck in today and I should have been suspicious since this is the first dealership outside of the cold weather states that claimed to be able to do the frame inspections. Well I talked to the service rep about the leaf spring recall and if that was an issue since I replaced mine with my leaf springs to which he had no answer. Then they took my truck back to do the inspection. 1.5 hours later they came back and said there was no issue with my frame that it was perfectly safe even with two holes in the frame that I was able to find in five minutes. they handed back the truck and didn't even do the CRC coating or anything. Said it was fine and that if I got the chance to go back to WV in the future to get it coated then. I've already called Toyota and complained since I know this is a one and done deal in terms of the inspection and coating.

For what it's worth, I talked to a Toyota Customer service rep yesterday, about the spring recall on two of my Tacoma's. His answer as to when they might start replacing them was early this summer. My 07 has Expo's ,which I never saved the receipts for and most likely will not be reimbursed for. I told him we were tired of the springs on our 2010, and didn't want anything Toyota was going to put on there, due to previous unresolved issues, (they did such a good job getting those first gen. frames rot issues figured out).......He gave me his direct phone number and name, and promised if I purchased my own springs and had them installed I would be refunded the money I spent, as long as I could document it when the recall starts being done. Is he blowing smoke up my butt, who knows.

What dealer did you have this done at, and were you happy with the results? Any issues?

    Hey all,
Boy do i wish i had read this thread last month.......
Trucks a 07 Double Cab O/R with 106xxx on it.
Anyway, I had the drivers side leaf spring break, called the dealer about it, and they said that there wasn't a fix for the spring recall yet, so, they would replace the rear leafs (both) at NC and when a fix was available, I'd have to bring it in for new springs again. At that time I recalled the CRC recall letter and requested they handle that at the same time. Took about three weeks from the initial call to the sceduled appointment (3/19). Dropped it off on 3/18 and got a new Camry to drive (hoorah.....) Got my rig back on 3/20. They acually did a decent job. Its got some overspray on some parts and maybe a few specs on the paint, but they atleast removed the spare! They informed me before bringing it in, to make sure the bed was empty/clean, implying they'd remove the bed. Doesnt look like that happend, overspray on the underside of the bed. It looks like they missed a couple of the "difficult" spots under the engine. They did pull the skid plates by the looks of things too.
Its now been 4 days, and the CRC crap is still wet and stinks. Reading thru this forum, i wish i hadn't had this done. My frame was in decent shape cause i have a car "washing" bay at work (i knock the salt off it pretty regularly)
Don't know if I really added anything to the conversation but i typed a bunch :)

Oh the dealer was Rhinelander Toyota btw

I should have kept that '09 and all its rust. My current truck had a near pristine frame. Now (six months and 8k miles later I might add) the engine block still smokes a little and stinks to high heaven from all the overspray I couldn't reach to clean.

I kid you not, last week I went to visit my dad, and he smelled my truck before he saw it. He walked out of the house looking for what was on fire

This is why I will NEVER own a northern vehicle and I'm glad cars don't rust in Florida unless you live on the coast.
