Yep yours :) that's not too bad. Very interested to see what your rig goes for. Really, it's tough to value... I feel like you've taken it above and beyond the 'mids don't factor into price' point... Whoever ends up with this will be a happy camper.

Unless you saw what could potentially take it's place that they would inherit. ;)

I'm guessing the one truck will be turned into two projects... But time will tell.

Love reading bout your Taco build and your FZJ build. Can't wait to see what your next project would be.

Hmmm, makes sense to me? I was thinking you might be considering two projects, one for each of your boys.

I.e. Selling one truck and buying two, a project for each.

Gotcha. Not a bad guess but that's not the plan. It's still totally up in the air.

Nothing to report except that I removed the carbon fiber hood blackout. Back to a clean hood.

My new project is the FZJ80 but there could be another one in the works soon.

So Adam, I've got a paint dilemma. The truck has some chips, a couple on the roof, and on at least one fender... They started to rust, so I have to do something soon.... I'm debating, rattle can (like you did your fenders, which came out great), or put the whole truck in the shop and get it repainted, which I want to do for preservation but yet I don't, because I know it'll get pinstriped quickly. I can't come up with any other cost effective alternative that won't look completely redneck or retarded.

    Thoughts or ideas ?

Just chips or large areas? If it's just chips try the duplicolor all in one touch up pen. It has a little abrasive tip for cleaning the chip of rust, paint and clearcoat.

I saw your reply in the Detailing post... I'll give it a try... The one on the roof is kind of big, the others are small spec size like maybe 1 or 2mm

If it's just small chips just use some touch up paint. I went to a local auto paint supply place and had a small bottle custom mixed with the factory paint code.

If you look at repainting the truck, one thing you can consider is having paint protection installed to protect from pinstriping. It's basically like putting clear-bra on the whole vehicle. The material they use has really improved over the last few years and is very thin, but still very tough. When it's just used to cover the front of a car like typical clear bra it's hard to even find the edge of the material. It's less prone to fade and yellow like the older clear-bra. It also self-heals. If you get a scratch or a gouge in it, you can just heat it up with a hairdryer and it will smooth itself out.

When I finally have my new Land Cruiser repainted that's the route I'm going.

    Good ideas !!! ;)

I have a shop in mind, they just did my coworkers '69 camaro for a great price. I'll see what they can do... Another benefit of getting it all redone, is I can get the bottom portion done in some kind of thick black coating or something very durable. I hate to make it look too redneck, but I'd like to protect the areas that take the most abuse a little extra.

Other than electrical, the rest of the mods are tapering down for everything I wanted, so body longevity is starting to hit my mind.

Adam, Im trying to see in your pics if you drilled into the pillar when you had your snorkel installed? Cant really tell. (I know some guys have got away without that brace)

Any tips? I'm starting to freak out. haha. The template didn't come with the big hole on it so I'm starting to freak, but I'm sure I'll be ok.

    Mucho Thanks!
