OK, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) has released their proposal for changes to the wood burning regulations and is holding public hearings.

    http://www.baaqmd.gov/~/media/Files...INAL Reg 63 Proposals March 3 2015.ashx?la=en

I got the email notifying me of the public hearings - one day AFTER the public hearing in Santa Clara County.

But - the scope of the ban seems to continue to be home heating. They don't seem to be proposing to include wood and solid fueled cooking fires as part of the burn ban with this particular proposal. Please read it yourself and correct me if I'm wrong here.

But, (among other changes) the criterion for declaring a "spare the air" day changes. So look for more of them if these proposals are accepted.

Yea know a guy that has a "green belt" trail or what ever those tree huggers call it at goes right threw his property. Basically every time he starts up his quad or side x side the nazi neighbor hits the speed dial button for the warden to report him.

And if he wants to use the trail he has to go 2 miles to the entrance. It's like a 500 dollar fine the first time and possible jail time on the second time. He can be banned for life from the trail even though the trail is on his property

In the fullness of time, yes. It'll take a while. I predict that sometime between 2025 and 2040 it will become mandatory in California to retrofit a house with solar panels with some specified power generation capacity before selling it.

Those Merc engines are effing workhorses! Can be finicky on cold starts, but just great engines. Make sure that fuel like bulb is in good shape if you have issues with cold starts.
