Ha. It's like 70 degrees here, but the water is still cold. Please, don't let the trouts hang in the air, and writhe and wriggle about.

Sorry, just one thing I can't stand. Don't be a "corn chucker".

I don't even like to see Bass or panfish being lipped.

I'm not a weird PETA freak or anything, it is just something I don't like to see. I have coached some of the red-necks down here stream side before. They thought I was crazy. Then I told them to be sure to clean up their "mepps" wrappers and corn cans. I can't stand that shit. No reason to litter the banks of the river.

I have about 1500' of river front. Prime native brown fishing. I didn't mind when people came and fished it. (I Owen half the river bottom that meets up with the other side land owners property) then people started leaving their garbage and shit and I lost my mind. Put up a bunch of signs. Listed the reasons why and said permission fishing only

Really pissed me off the disrespect they showed

The same shit everyone else has.
Makes me sad I live in western PA where the fish dont get anywhere as big as those posted above. Not to mention, 90% of all the trout here are stocked. Very, very few native fish.

Thanks for the insight. Ive been trying to read as much as I possibly can.

Average size out of 85 fish caught by my partner and I. It was seriously one of the best days of fishing in my life. All caught nymphing and with a size 18 fly. And a few 20" browns to top it off. We saw three other people fishing in two days....

Killed it man! Awesome catches! I am likely to head out on sunday for a lil fishing. Hoping the water isn't murky from some run off already.

I've seen "corn chuckers" throw flys before, and he said they lost a few dozen flies. (Better knots, better tippet/leaders/line:notsure:).

Yes, Mike like to spin cast. I took all the pics so I had to put down my Clear water. He has a bunch of pics of me, maybe I can get him to forward some to me. here is the tip if it bothers you so much:)-W90wLgF8Pwi5x1IMtHZBRwZ4DrKdzUCzguCNsQ8_f6c2fb2d49c5be85c476cb3e765513d8f712263a.jpg

Lol doesn't bother me. Well kinda but only because it's the fly fishing bs thread :p. I am surprised you lost so many flies because they were swallowing them. Did you spray them with artificial scent by chance?

I said they swallowed the flies. Better for the fish to leave them in the fish.

I'm getting a vibe here. Maybe I better leave this thread for the elitists in the crowd.

Nah you're fine man. I was just curious since fish are known to taste and immediately spit out artificial flies. When you put on scent it tricks the fish into thinking it's food and is likely to swallow the hook. That's why in areas that only allow artificial lures also ban scents.

No no. That's not necessary. I agree about leaving the hook, caught one last Friday like that, with line hanging out its mouth. Don't let us keep you from posting. I'm no better than anyone else; I'm just pinto g out a few things that bother me.

Fly fishing may be seen as elitist, and I agree. The majority of fly fishers don't want to see fish mis-handled or trash on our river banks. That's all.

Appreciate it. If there was any scent, it came with it from the fly shop.

The only thing I can think is that spot in the middle of the river below the rocks has a dead spot in the current. Didn't even need to use an anchor for the boat. It was just teeming with those 10" fish and I think they were competing against each other for food.

It was a good couple of days for sure! Some of the smaller rivers are experiencing a little runoff around the western side of the state if that helps.
