Worst case scenario, what happens if you get the new truck and you dont like that color too?

If I go through with it...black. The white looks good too but I'm afraid I would end up right back in the same situation.

OP, I myself loved the BSP when I bought it. Then I really didn't care for it for a while. Then back to loving it again. In the end it's only a color. Under that paint is the same truck you would be trading to. If you're going to lose sleep over it go for it. I myself wouldn't take a hit over it.

The new black doesn't have the pop of BSP. ;) Just sayin'.

    Best advice so far.

IMO there are bigger cosmetic shortcomings with the stock truck to address first (like the ugly chrome grille and chrome rear bumper).

I did. I had a black sand pearl tacoma for 6 months. Im pretty inexperienced with vehicles and didnt realize how hard black is to keep up. I could spend hours cleaning it, and the next day you couldnt even tell. Black also showed off scratches like a billboard. I learned silver is the easiest color, and found the same truck in silver. I traded, and am happy i did so. I want this truck at least 15 years and i didnt want to be regretting the color the whole time.

Black is arguably the most awesome color when it's clean and waxed.

You'll want to get familiar with this little beauty though:

    http://www.californiacardusters.com/premiumcarduster.html

I once playfully thought of writing an article titled

"The Cabal of the Black" - "The black car owner's secret guide to keeping your Black looking good while making it look effortless."

Then there'd be like secret membership rules like:

    1. never let anyone see you wash your truck
    2. wash your truck every single day.

    etc...

i could also wash the black truck at my fathers house, and by the time i got home the layer of dust on the hood was glaring at me. I did think of the california duster at the time, bit thought it would be a bit ridiculous to be dusting off a pickup truck, lol. Im MUCH happier with my ssm tacoma, and it still looks sharp as heck when its Freshly washed. It never really looks dirty.

When I bought my 2014 reg. cab 4x4 a year ago it was the only one they had and the last one they would ever get.....so I bought it. Red wasn't my favorite color but I wouldn't trade it in just to get another color.

IMHO, if you trade just because of color... on a rental truck, you're friggin' crazy to lose 3K!

Color was important to me so I made sure the truck I got was the color I wanted (white or silver). So I understand.
