I commented in the other thread but i run 883 coils with a relentless plate bumper and have no complaints.

Even though it peels off I think it's still pretty durable from what I've read, have never used it though. Could just buy one can and test it out on something to see how durable it really is.

I think I'm goig to go w/ 14 cans each for the base color coat/varnish instead of 12.

I count: 3x for hood/roof, 4x for doors/fenders, 3x for back of ext cab, 4x for both sides of bed.

A friend of mine did it to his car and another to a motorcycle. You have to be very careful when filling the tank too because if any gas touches the plastidip it melts and runs almost instantly

Oh shit, didn't even think of that. I wouldn't be able to do it then, gas always seems to drip out when taking the nozzle out, and splashes when filling up my motorcycle

I did it to my stock bumper. It resists getting hit or crushed well but friction or stuff scratching it very hard will take it off. I got rear ended by a motorcycle and the plastidip still looked good. The bike not so much..

That was a few months ago. If anybody cares the rider was fine and will probably never space out on the freeway again. I hate rush hour lol

Then wouldn't you have to hold the handle the whole time so it doesn't overflow?

^^^to make dip more resistant to staining and tearing dyc has a product called top coat (i think). Have you consider bedlining the truck? I did mine 2 tone With lower half being bed liner so it wont scratch or buff going offroad.

I can vouch for this. I pulled off my flares and dipped them, installed them and went to the gas station the day after and of course as I was going to put the nozzle in a freaking gas came pouring out of the nozzle and ruined it. I tried wiping it off, might have been better off letting it air dry. Still looks a little ugly but oh well. Made me mad

    Yep

The thicker it is the better it stands up to scratches. That only goes so far though

Depends on what you want to do with the truck, both will give you about the same lift. I prefer 882s as the coils compress when I want them to. I think the lighter spring rate is better for offroad. FWIW, I have a plate bumper, winch, and skids up front.

It's my DD, but i'd prefer better flex up front since I don't have a locker up front.
I would imagine the lighter spring rate would also give a better ride on road.
