FINALLY finished my CMC! No pics of the final product, it was cutting into Beer-Thirty.

Made a cardboard template of each fit piece, then loaded it into the CNC plasma cutter and cut a 1/8" piece of steel. Welded it into place then ball peen hammered it to shape. Gound down the welds flush and smooth, then hit the previously pounded pinch welds with some RTV silicone for good measure. Sprayed a generous coat of galvanized zinc paint, then flat black enamel, then a final coat of Dynatron 544 Dyna-Pro rubberized undercoating.

 

Replaced Serpentine Belt, topped off the power steering fluid, tank of fuel, rotated the tires, Alignment, found out my Icon Vehicle Dynamics Billet UCA's ball joints are toast. Too much play in the passenger side, and driver side is already showing some play too. Fridge put back in the bed and starting to organize for the rest of the trip to NC & FL

Did this project today. I used to do automotive upholstery so this was easy and only took a few hours.
Just some plywood, nylon carpet, 1/2" carpet foam padding, screws, hinges, and staples! I also did the backside and underside of the cushion and backrest.
I'll be adding more trim to it for a "factory look" and dog needed accessories as time goes. I was even maybe thinking of putting this into production for those who don't have the time nor resources...

took it on a 600mile road trip to see a friend get married but the day before that I took it out to the butte behind the house for some cycling.

 

I finally got my transmission completely out today. Also got my flywheel resurfaced. Will post pics tomorrow. WOOO

 

Great idea/job!! But now you took all the FUN out of cleaning the dog hair off the seats.
