I didn't think you could fit 285s on factory off road rims without spacers??

Ok so I'm getting ready to purchase a lift. I have a 2009 AC and looking to get 2.5 to 3 inches of lift. I currently have skids and sliders on my truck and will be adding a plate bumper at some point, probably aluminum. I was thinking about going with a full OME kit with, 886 coils, 90000 struts, and Dakar leaf pack. I think this should get me there. What do you think?

Yes, I forgot to mention UCA's. I plan on getting some.

I have a question. I'm planning to do my lift with the OME kit, however i'm split on what to do on the back. Here are my two options...
    1) go with the Dakars that come in the kit
    2) put the AAL on the new set of factory rear springs that I receive as part of that corrosion/fracture recall on the 2nd gens...

the latter would save me about $320. I'll have ~0.75" less lift in the back with option 2, but that would only further help the leveling with a ~2.75" lift from the 886's up front.

Am I making an apples/oranges comparison, or is option 2 really a good idea?

I wouldn't go 886 unless you're putting on a heavy bumper and winch in the very near future.

886 front - add-a-leaf in the back is a formula for mega-bro-lean, especially if you're actually carrying any weight back there.

    Yes sir
Yea if you don't have that extra 200 + lbs up front you'll want either 884,885, or 887 springs. They all have the same spring rate just different lengths. I think 885's are like 1.5-2.0 or 2.5 inches and the 887's are 3 inches

I've got a 4xinnovations Hybrid Steel front bumper mounted now. Winch and skid plate in the future. skid plate sooner than winch.

well i don't want bro-lean. Contrary to popular opinion, i actually like the factory rake of the 2nd gen. so I don't care to level the truck. I just need an extra 2-2.5" up front to help my 33's clear the fenders during suspension compression.

I don't need to stiffen up the rear suspension, just get the same lift as the front. I was thinking a new leaf pack or AAL would do the trick, without ever considering a block lift. but i guess a block lift in back wouldn't really hurt anything, would it?

to avoid bro-lean, would the addition of a block to the AAL get me what i need?

Stuff and things that make it better.
Blocks might get you to where you want, but the second you throw your heavy wallet full of the cash you saved in the bed, you'll be looking at stars while you drive. ;)

Yea, so you'll want 886 coils because of that extra weight up front. As for the back I'd go with dakars if you have the cash but otherwise an add-a-leaf is solid, I would advise against blocks

Cash really isn't a problem. I just like to save when there are equivalent options out there that are cheaper. You guys have been a big help. Hopefully when I install my setup, I'll have the experience to help the next lad.

Yep, I carry my bike in the bed. Although I'm in between bikes now, this will be a recurring issue :)

It's not too bad, the front sits higher but you can't really notice it. I ran that setup for probably 3 months without any front weight. I did have a loaded tool box in the bed also

OME 3 inch lift all the way around, 285 75 16s, fog light any time, HID, Rock sliders, 30 inch bumbper LED, LED pod ditch lights
Just purchased ome front kit from another tw member. All new:) my question: 9000 struts with 887 coils(2009 trd dcsb no armor...yet) will I need a spacer to achieve a full 3 inch lift? If so, how big? I plan on A hybrid plate bumper, winch, full skids and sliders in the future...but may also go icon by then. Thanks for the inputting

    Yes sir
887's will give you a full 3" lift, the 885's are the ones that need the top plate spacer. If you plan on having that armour up front you'll want the 886 coils though assuming it's an extra 200 + lbs up front

I put 885 coils and 5100s at "0" setting on the front of a 2013 DCLB TRD Sport and got almost 3 inches of lift. The back for the time being has 5100s and a 1.5" block due to a problem with the AAL I ordered. A very slight "bro lean" with @ 100 lbs in the back - so I will be looking at moving to an AAL in the near future.
