As I am not getting return emails from Relentless I am forced to go here. I have attached photos of my bumper install. Quite a few questions as there were no instructions. How many of you had to add 10 or so washers to make the bumper fit (see photo's) up and down? I have yet to add washers to the in/out distance but am about to as it rubs on the light support and the small plastic pieces on them or were those supposed to come off? I like the bumpers but I must say that the customer service of Relentless is well, it sucks. Looking for any ideas. I've looked at other bumpers and I see no washers, so what do I have?

Something is muffed. Either the jig they used is off or something on your truck is off. I'm leaning towards the bumper being screwy. I have no idea where to begin on figuring it out tho.

Yep, my thoughts exactly! I also need to add probably 3-4 washers to move the bumper forward off the headlight supports. I thought something was wrong when Eric told me the bumper would slide up over the welded on tow ring........it didn't even come close to clearing and it was cut off to get the bumper on. Thanks for your thoughts.

Try PMing Eric. I had to do the same thing with the washers for my first bumper. I had maybe 6 or 7 to adjust the height and 2 or 3 to move it out a little bit. Took a little finagling but it came out and worked out perfect.

I just don't think, as all Tacomas are built off the same jig, you would need more than 1, maybe 2 washers to adjust anything. In and out should be dead on. And if Eric would return an email after I have sent three that would be a great plan. He was somewhat Johnny on the spot to get my money but he has been poor at best with after the sale customer service which is why I'm posting here which was the last thing I wanted to do. Curious, did you have to cut off the tow hook to get it on?

Doesn't it show that hoop needing to be cut off in the install pics in the Relentless plate bumper thread in his vendor section ?

I don't know. When I bought my bumper there were no instructions available anywhere. I was told by Eric (after leaving 4 messages) that "it should slide over it when you put the bumper on." Well, it didn't and I just got tired of waiting and cut it off.

Send him a PM or call him. Yes I had to get rid of the tow hook and cut off the attachment on the drivers side.

    Sje11224,

Apparently you didn't read my post. I was one of the first to buy the bumper from Eric and there were no instructions of any kind. Just a couple bumpers on a pallets with no additional parts which needed to be shipped later. As for calling Eric? I wouldn't be posting here if he had returned either phone calls or emails. Have you ever tried getting a hold of him? He has never picked up the phone and returns maybe one in 5 phone messages left. It takes days to get a hold of him if he calls back or emails back at all. I run a very successful boat shop and ship all over the world. If I treated my customers this way I wouldn't have made it 20 years.

Actually I have had very great experiences with Eric. And yes I have called him and gotten ahold of him. I've had my bumper from him since 2011.

My bumpers is for a 2012 Tacoma. At the time there were no instructions and, as noted much of the conversation was cryptic and "well, you might try" statements. I am a high end boat builder working in exotic fabrics and much of what I do takes a long time to run up a layup schedule. But I always have an answer for "what if" or "what now." There is no way you should have to put 10 washers (that aren't included) to adjust the fitment. I have had a couple of 4wd shops look at it and like me, loved the look and laugh at the fit. And I have talked with more than a couple of guys who comment about the availability of getting questions answered. As customers we leave messages and emails because we would like to have a call back or response to answer a question. If you're in business it's part of your job. You;ll never make money at being good at customer service but you sure will lose future business because of it.

Hey OP, I am going through the same thing with my bumper. I didint get the Relentless Fab one, but i got an Allpro. I had to download directions off of Allpro's website and they were the most worthless 4 pieces of paper ever. I have similar issues with mine. It's taken me a while to get it just right and im still not that satisfied. Now that i have it lined up good, i hear squeaking noises all them time while i am driving. You would think after spending so much $$ on these bumpers you would get better customer service and directions. Good luck.

    Yes, I read your post.
Eric has been known to get busy for days but, many of us have spoken with him in the past. I have no doubt he will be willing to lend some help.
Try posting here for some help from members and Eric is bound to show up.

2012 bumper.....wow must have a new mounting system and all. Pretty sure it has the same 10 or so bolts that my 2010 bumper has. Can't be that hard to figure it out. Have yall tried to PM Eric? Sometimes emails can go unread for a few days. I'll Tell you what, most of the fabricators on here are busy and it might take a few days for them to get back to you but I'll stand by Eric's products all day long.

Picture 4 looks to have about the right amount of space between the bumper and the fender. Pic 5, you have the bumper too close to the fender, needs a little more space for it to flex.

As said, they're custom bumpers and take a little bit to get aligned correctly.

I think that's what I've done here? No where to be found. And if you don't return emails, don't offer an email address. Pretty simple

Yep, they're different but most of it was the angles of the upper section which, obviously spaced the bottom out further as well for some reason. I do remember looking at the prototype/first off on his website for the 2012 and it did not have the spacing (no washers) down below where it mounted. So, something changed. And yes, like I said, I like the design of the bumper but the support has been less than stellar to say the least.

Likening said before I had 6 or 7 washers on the bottom to get it level but I figured that's part of getting a custom bumper. Try calling him in the afternoon.
