What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

He made those window inserts himself. I think he's got a build thread for them, if not their in his truck build. Very crafty guy!

 

Just got the transmission out! Flywheel is resurfaced. Time to go put it back together


I also installed my custom plates and TW sticker a while back too

 

Bought her some new shoes

 

Replaced those wonderful OEM lugnuts and rotated the tires while I was at it

 

Cut out My sides on the Grillie to match the mesh in the center.

 

perfect, I was thinking about those wheels. Might be your short bed twin.

After seeing transmission temps near 210 several times thought it was high time to install a cooler. This is rather small but hopefully it will help.

 

Are you towing or something? Highest mine has ever gone just driving around was 190*...typically right around 180*

Hit the big one today on my way home to Arkansas. Now my truck is broken in!

Now for another oil change, and a good check over. And a good cleaning to get all the puppy hair out after the long drive.

 

No towing, no loads....just driving through town with ambient temperature in the low 80's. There are a few small hills (basically just inclines). It was Fri. afternoon with a lot of traffic. It had reached 190 before during normal driving but that day it stayed closer to 208.

4 cyl, 4 speed, regular cab 4x4.

 

Washed the truck today and pulled all the skid plates off. So that I can smooth them out and get rid of the rust and bare metal from moan. Lol

 

Played around with the RTT today to figure out how to wire up some interior lights and snapped a pic. It's not going to be as easy as I thought.

 

I have been thinking a lot about making the same move. What motivated you to move into a Tundra?

Nothing that crazy. I added some camp lights around the RTT when it's closed, and at the same time have a hot wire direct from the battery with a DT connector right under the tent. Now i just have to figure out how to take power from there and route it into the tent.

 

The look of the Tundra ,the size , but mostly, the 5.7.
