Started the shower install... Mounted heat plate. There were two unused factory tapped holes there, so I just drilled a hole in bracket, and used a few extra bolts I had that fit:

And it's a good thing I am going to replace the hoses because this:

Here are some teaser photos of the shower system. I decided to hard mount the pump in my toolbox after all so it will be as easy as connecting two hoses and flipping a switch...

Here is where the hose from the river/lake/bucket will connect.
    2015-03-22%20019_75f20d04df54e851fd9215e52695fe1bd476b2b7.jpg
Travels through the pump in the tool box (still need to mount and connect hose), and comes out on the other side. Will run the water hose down the carrier and frame to the engine bay:

Into the heat exchanger. I am going to run a line to the front bumper and mount a bracket to hold connector for shower head.
    2015-03-22%20023_6e1c78fe52b4c0dac26a2e4050bf884bf14e601d.jpg
This is looking at the re route I did to make the heat exchanger loop. I am slightly concerned about the line that runs parallel to the intake hose, slightly contacting MAF sensor plug...

I didn't know how to use Teflon tape, so the exchanger leaked like a mofo. Gonna redo it tomorrow... And I need to redo all the fittings out back the same way, since I did them wrong too :)

Yep for surelio. Come on by. It's pretty straight forward. I'll give you a shopping list :) but seriously it isn't that bad. Not sure I want to know what my cost is at this point but you can gather parts for under 300.

It will be really cool once it's done. The idea is to be able to connect shower head in front, throw the intake line into the river, and turn on a switch.

Well I made progress on the shower system, but it probably doesn't look like much difference from last time. Anyways, hooked up the water lines inside the toolbox and mounted (kind of) the pump. I also used different fittings and both metal and neoprene washers for water tightness. I decided I wanted to see the damn thing pump water so hooked it up, and it didn't work... It was pumping but not very much. I even tried priming with a shorter hose and keeping bucket at the same height as pump... It pulled some what're but nothing to write home about.

I think my cig lighter connector isn't drawing enough power, so gonna hook up some alligator clips for direct to battery connection tomorrow, and see if that works better. I will in the next few months be hooking up a deep blue fusebox, and at that time will hard wire the pump and add a switch. Pics!

We can make something happen. It has taken many hours, but I bet we could smash this out in an afternoon now that I know the shopping list... :)

Well I tried connecting straight to battery with alligator clamps, still won't pull water. Narrows it down to fittings or the pump. Pretty sure it is the fittings, since jiggling the fitting had an effect on what little water did flow. Gonna give it another whirl tomorrow with different fitting combo. So tiring working on this standing on one foot...

The pump is turning on though right? It might just be more length/height than the pump is able to do. Does the pump have any length height limits marked on it/packaging?

Pump turns on yep :) I thought the same thing about length of hose, using a short jose didn't help. I'm reasonably sure it is the fitting on my intake hose. It has a 1/2" barb for hose, and the other end is a 3/4" female which swivels... I think pressure is being lost where it swivels. Not a perfect seal. Prolly fine for gardening where there is plenty of water pressure, but not for suction. Make sense to you too? You are the expert on this stuff haha

Barge in any time :) I have not regeared yet, no. But I would like to for sure! When I do, probably dropping in 5.29's and making a jump to 35's. Gonna be awhile cuz that is good chunk of $$.
