I need to replace my 55 for a 65 and move the 55 to the master BR.

 

When I just bought mine, I went to a few local stores, determined what I wanted and then bought off Amazon. Got my 46" Samsung for around $650. Our living rooms are about the same size. Personally, I am overall happy with the 46", but a 50" may be a little better without going overboard. (IMO).

Damn guys. Trying to compensate for something? Maybe bad eyesight. I just got rid of my 32". Guess I am behind a little.

 

yea i was look at how most tvs now have a smaller "frame" so a 50" tv with a thin frame would really be about the same size on my wall as my 42" with larger frame. so then i was thinking a 55" would only be a little bigger, but might feel huge. best buy has a samsung 4k ultra hd for $1k, but i might spend $86 for a new video board for my old tv first and see if that fixes it.

Hahah I literally bought it at the time cuz I had terrible eyesight. Since then I got lasik so now I just got a big TV haha

We've got a 42" in the master bedroom right now which really is perfect in there but if we get a bigger one for the living room I don't want to put the nice 55" in the guest bedroom.

 

Don't get a 4k TV unless you know it's HDCP 2.2 capable.

 

What does that mean? Is that something typically listed in the product specs?

Basically this will be the new standard of copy protection and many 4k tv's do not support it which risk limiting the TV's ability to display future 4k content.

 

Looking some TIG welder services in the NJ area, basically to assemble and aluminum basket. I'm going to have all the pieces precut so if you know someone pass the info my way. Thanx

Two of my installers do tig welding. They both live in Union and are always looking for side work. Let me know if you want me to hook you up with one of them.

 

Anyone ever been to Germany? Going for work in mid October and have the option of staying extra for vacation. Any suggestions on how much time to stay and what to do? The show I am attending is in Augsburg. Thanks!

Never been but I'd like to go...my dad went 2 years ago... Was during Hurricane Sandy. I could ask him what sight seeing he did if any... He was there for mainly business...

I'm a history nerd when it comes to war stuff... I'd like to go see dachau or buchenwald... But that's a dark place to go when using some free time lol...

 

I spent Summers in Germany as a kid - my Mom immigrated to the US when she was 21. Actually came over on a boat!
Tons of things to see & do. My Mom, wife & daughter are going this summer.

 

TIG is fun Jay... But if you can TIG weld you can MIG and stick as well... TIG is the hardest!
