yellow fog lights

whats up with yellow fog lights? are they for looks or sure as a purpose? anyways i think they look nice. ive read some threads and it looks like its just a yellow cover you use over the fog lights is this true?

I have yellow fog lights but I only run them in the winter. We get some really nasty fog between November and March and the yellow fog lights really help cut thru the fog. I didn't believe yellow fog lights helped at first until I experienced the heavy fog when I moved here 5 years ago.

I also run them in my wife's Honda Pilot.

You can get yellow film to put over the fog light lenses. Or you can buy yellow bulbs. I'd rather buy bulbs if I was going to do it. And as mentioned yellow gives better visibility in fog and other inclemate weather conditions. Although I've heard some argue it makes no difference. But I've heard enough people say it helps alot to believe that it does make a difference.

 

Get 3000K HIDs. They are BRIGHT. They make a difference

i have the yellow luminics bulbs and love them

 

I used Lamin-X covers on mine, They're ok. One of them bonded really well and all the tiny air bubbles went away after a day or two but the other one came up a little after I put it on and it happened to rain that night so I have a little spot on the bottom that doesnt stick. Every time I walk by I press it down but it always comes back up. I even tried to heat it up with a blow dryer but it didnt work. Other than that I like the way they look, especially on white Tacomas.

 

Can someone point me to a website that sells these bulbs or a retailer in socal so I can get a pair.

been fine for almost 2 years now

 

I had the yellow lens covers (LaminEx) on for a few months. I thought it would look good with red but I later decided against them. I would probably like the HID's in yellow but I don't care for the lens covers on my truck.

It looks overly "ricer" for my taste.

Can you link me to a place where i can get these HID's and also........how did the replacement go when doing this? Was it hard....easy.....plug n play from the back of the light housing?
