Bought a chunk of USD on Friday.... Ouch. Two days at Rausch is worth an extra 20% to me but the wife gets a little twitchy about exchange rates so I just won't tell her ....lol.

Thank you Billy. Why couldn't it be somewhere cool like New Hampshire or Alaska or something?

Ari and I are thinking about moving to Phoenix, but we might be able to buy/rent our cottage up in NH from my grandmother, as she expressed that she wanted to keep it in the family. Time will tell.

Yeah man, humidity is the WORST

    I worked? :notsure:

After doing a bit more research on exhaust solutions for the Ferd, I think I have an idea I want to try out. The exhaust I really want is the Borla touring but no way I can blow that kind of money on something like that. Ford makes a resonator delete pipe for $50, 100% bolt on, supposedly doesn't drone in the cab, almost no difference in noise until you really open it up. Sounds like my kind of solution. For $50, I'm going to give it a shot. :)

Plus if you don't like it I'm sure that you can sell it and get almost all of your money back.

    So no....

Can you find any Youtube videos to give you an idea of the sound difference?

Reason I ask is that I did a resonator delete on a Jeep some years back to get a little more sound out of it, and it didn't make any difference that I could tell. :notsure:

That's what I'm thinking. It's a part number for the older 5.4L but has been confirmed that the pipe size and length is identical for the newer 5.0L. I have to go to the dealership tonight anyways so I'll see if I can pick one up.

I found a couple youtube videos, I'll see if I can find them again. It didn't make a lot of difference until you really opened it up. On the outside, it made a little difference on the exhaust note but not much on the decibel level. Honestly though, that's sort of what I'm looking for. Subtle change but not increase cab noise. If this doesn't give me what I want, I can go one step further and swap the muffler.

Dynomax makes a muffler with a valve in it that goes fully open at wot. Other than that the valve stays partially closed keep the sound level down. My buddy has one on his tundra. Pretty badass.

No need to find them on my account; I don't have speakers here at work anyway, haha!
Just was curious if you'd found a vid demonstrating a noticeable difference before you bothered swapping it.

    'Fraid not.
I'm still arguing with my dealership about the fact that my truck qualifies for the latest leaf spring recall so that I can get a set of TSB springs. There's other dealerships in the area, but they're much further away.

Sounds interesting, I just looked it up on their website. Not sure how I feel about it for long term use though. All it would take would be that little spring in the muffler breaks and it would be a rattle trap. I like the idea, but I don't like inaccessible moving parts.
I had a hard time finding videos to be honest. Everyone wants to show off their obnoxiously loud exhaust systems. I couldn't even find a video of the Borla Touring exhaust, they were all the ATAK system. If you want Flowmaster, seems every lifted Ford has them. The video I found seemed like the resonator delete was very subtle and mostly unnoticable for most driving conditions (which for a family hauler, isn't a terrible thing).

They claim that the parts aren't available from Toyota yet, but I've seen guys on here that have had the new TSB done already. I've even given them part #'s that I've found online with no luck
I suspect they just don't want to do all the warranty work, since I'm looking to have them do the seat belt recall at the same time. I even tried to sweeten the deal by saying that I'd have a transmission flush done at the same time (since I'm due for one anyway) but they still won't do it.
I'm going to call one of the dealerships in Augusta this week to see if they'll do it, and if so I'll just have the work done there instead. I'm getting tired of arguing with the service manager and might switch tactics to just bringing him a completed invoice from somebody else's dealership rather than continuing to :frusty: with this one.

That's so weird. Cause they get paid for warranty work just like normal shit they sell you on. Maybe their techs suck and go over book time? I think toyota just pays them straight book time for warranty work

I couldn't agree more. That's why I didn't go with that one plus I wanted some rumble.
