I did a 1-1/2" lift. 5100's all around. Fronts set at zero with Eibach springs = 1-1/2 "
And since all Tacoma leaf packs suck, I bought General Spring HD leaf packs for the back. I have about an 1-1/2 " of rake .

    None yet.
Do you have any measurements of the hight of this setup. What rear leaf pack do you have 3+1 or 2+1?

Mine with the same setup (with 2+1 leaf pack):

Front: 21" from center of hub to fender, 36" from ground to fender

Rear: 22" from center of hub to fender, 37" from ground to fender

Both sides are pretty much the same (I have the 1/4" spacer on the driver's side to correct the lean).

    Also with +1 tires (265/70/17)

    A couple of pics:

Did it ever settle, or do you still have 2.5 up front?

Factory rake. Front and rear lifted 2". Wheelers progressive AAL with overload left in. Removing the overload with this AAL will net you 1.5" if you're looking to get closer to level.

So Ive decided to go toyteck springs front and rear. I will supposedly yeild 2.5" front(new coils) and 2" rear(deaver aal pack). I will use stock shocks for now. Do I need to do a Diff drop? Carrierbearing drop? 2.5 deg shim on the axel? Has anyone done this? I got my stuff from Bilstein lifts and this was recommeded I just want an outside opinion.

From all I have read here and elsewhere, diff drops are pretty much useless on 2nd gen tacomas. Again, I have no experience using one, just what I've read. My truck is fine without one. CB drops and axle shims are used to correct driveline vibrations that can occur when you lift the rear of thye truck because you change the angle of the drive shaft. You may or may not get vibes. Install the lift. Drive the truck. If you have vibes go buy a CB drop. If that doesnt fix it, try the axle shims. If you don't get vibes, you havent wasted $ on parts you don't need and won't have useless shit on your truck. Plus, installing them if theyre not needed can cause vibes rather than fix them.

I don't think you can use a 2.5" lift coil on stock front shocks. I would look for clarification before you try it.

I agree with rngr. In fact, I had been PM'ing him about this issue last week before I installed my 2" lift. I didn't do a diff drop, nor did I do a carrier barring drop. After having the lift installed I have no vibrations and it would have been wasted effort, and potentially caused new vibrations, had I installed the cb drop.

I have the same lift as rngr I believe except I have the 1.5 Toytec single AAL. I couldn't be happier with how it drives and looks. Although the pictures might not show it, it still has factor rake.

I did the 5100's set to 0 with the OME 883x and being a Prerunner it gave me just under 2in. up front. Leveled me off nicely. Love the ride .:D

Toytec sells a lift kit with everything you need like this^^^^.

I had it on my access cab. Comes with the rear AAL full set of billies and the Einach coils. Sent the clip at 1.75 and there Ya go. Check out my old build If you want to see pics. If you call them they will put the coils on the shock for you and set it where u want. Would run you about $700 bucks if they do that. (Extra 100 for them to put it together)

I've had the Ironman lift on for 22k mi. Still rides like it did the day I took it off the lot.

I'm surprised no one has asked OP about budget. Sounds like he definitely has one.

Lifting these trucks is like anything else in life. Know exactly what you want and do that the first time. I did an AAL when I first lifted the truck and had a 20 mph vibe. Then I had to replace the leaf pack because my main leave was bent and went with the Dakars. The Dakars yielded the same height as the TSB pack + AAL, but the 20 mph vibe went away.

Super budget lift: spacers. (I do not recommend this option to anyone)
Budget lift minor: 5100s with the fronts pre-loaded
Budget lift: Eibach or OME coils w/ 5100s (not preloaded)
Still budget, but package deal: Ironman + AAL
(What seems to be the) TW Standard lift: OME coils and shocks + AAL
Next step up: Ironman or OME with new rear leaf pack

    No longer budget:
    Toytec ULK
    King/Icon/Fox Adjustable Coilovers

I may consider them when it's time to replace the ones that I have. Right now, I'd rather put that money towards some other mods:

    Sound dampening
    Extended brake lines
    New HU
    Speakers
    TC skid

Sorry to thread jack, but I guess if you take anything from my comments it's that I don't feel I need to upgrade after 20k miles. Well, the Dakars were a nice upgrade. They handle weight in the bed so much better :D.

VERY slight rake. I think the next notch up would make it nose high.
The OME 883 springs would prob be perfect, but more expensive for less than a .25 difference
The last pic is not on level ground. the nose is NOT high
