More the reason to get my winch install completed.
Yes my 3rd gen. I was trying to get out of a crevis that had a big rock sticking out the wall on the passenger side. I didn't want the rock in the side of one of the doors so I tried to exit out before getting to that rock and had some trouble.

I don't have the new tires yet. They should arrive today. Not sure how soon I will get them put on.

Sounds fun. I recommend a ride-a-long in Kurt's '85. The only downfall is it makes you want to abandon any sort of IFS build.

Hopefully MIOBI territory is dry when you give it a go. When I took my Taco down there I wasn't getting around too well with my mall-terrains and Ryan didn't have much better luck that day. Luckily for you it isn't too far away compared to Ryan and I.

I'm tempted to buy a kingpin Dana 60 with my tax refund. Just for shits and giggles. But if this new ecu fixes my problem I'm probably going back to daily driving my truck. My poor neighbors at 6am...

Apparently my truck hated Iowa. Got it up to Minnesota and I don't get a check engine light anymore. And it runs like a raped ape.

There is an offroad shop in Dubuque, but I don't think you want to go that far. I did think of someone I know that is building a shop right now. I will have to see if he would be willing to let us borrow it for a weekend. I think its in the Des Moines area, but not real sure. I am looking into getting wiring done at my house so I can run my welder. Hope to know something next week.

Even if we were able to get access to the shop or you got that wiring ran do you think we could find someone to do it ?

Hey guys so I'm looking at welders because I reallly wanna get into it. What are some things to look for when looking at a welder ? I have a 220 in my parents house but what's the capability difference between a 110 and 220 welder ? I would love to do my rear setup. But I'm not sure on what thickness of steel I'm looking at working with when it comes to welding on the frame.

So I'm wondering if you guys have some hidden secrets that you can let a guy know !

Looking at something like this http://www.hobartwelders.com/products/wirefeed/handler140/

When I was looking for a machine it came down to the two I have linked below. I haven't bought one yet but I ultimately decided on the Lincoln for its versatility if you want to purchase additional components. They are both dual voltage machines. I don't have access to 220V but even if I did I would still probably get a dual voltage machine. Using 220V both machines can weld up to 3/8" thick material single pass. If you are plugged into 110V the material thickness will decrease. I don't recall what the 110V thickness amounts are.

Your frame is about 3/32" thick.

Just like other tools, you get what you pay for.

Dc TIG only works for steel. No aluminum.

I was just practicing beads with my dads handler 140 and it worked amazing. I noticed anything past 3/16 is MP on just about anything, so where does the spike in price come from ? Is it the duty cycle Handlers is 20% isn't that what most welders run at however ? I mean MIG will be the only thing I ever need so would I be fine for most anything with the 140? Hobart and Miller have the same parent company as well

Hobart is miller. Miller is the parent company. My welder has a 100% duty cycle and can weld 1/2".
