She looks damn good for a 20 yr old paint job! Nice ride. And jimmy, good lookin rides. You always have the sweet rigs. (Beemers, classics, that 1st gen!)

Back to my original question, anyone have good recommendations for classic car forums? Jimmy I checked out the two you suggested. Some awesome info there, especially suspension-wise. I'm not really going the pro-touring route yet, but I absolutely have plans to upgrade brakes and suspension.

I was on hotrodders.com, chevytalk and the HAMB. All good sites, but I guess the reality is that nothing really matches the TW community!

You may be going the hotrod route but maybe check out some lowrider forums, they will at least know of good places to find parts, it is a '62 Impala after all.

Also I hope to see that beast on American graffiti weekend!

K? I drive a '99 in 2019 it will be considered a "classic" if I keep it in its original form. I don't think that will happen. Lol

Just a word of advice from someone who has been there, do NOT do the interior before paint. You'll hate yourself every day if you do.

Thanks dudes. She's not bad. Dad and I have built it since '08. Minor ally it's down at his place since he's got the massive amount of tools/gadgets. I've been doing some work on it here in Sac but I'm a little more cautious on where I drive it/park it. Lol

The paint is decent. We've really tried to polish and wax it often to maintain the clear on it. It def has its surface scratches you can see when up close. Just the downfall of red.

I've been on various mustang forums, not really hotrod. Hence why I said it depends on what kind of car. I'll ask my buddy who is a big Chevy guy.

Also, depending on what you want to do, paint and interior kind of go hand in hand. I agree that paint should come before interior, so whatever you install, doesn't have to be pulled back out when painted. However with ours. The paint was done before. When we redid the interior, we found a flat red and various gloss white to paint areas underneath carpet/seats, etc. not sure how much metal the impala shows, but 95% of my interior is covered by carpet, kick panels, vinyl, etc. only the metal dash is exposed. But we painted it ourselves with gloss white for an easy job. The exterior will be redone, in time, by a professional shop. For the engine bay/undercarriage we used a a flat black automotive paint, I forget the brand. Makes touch ups a breeze.

No no no no. You're priorities are askew.
100-spoke, gold Mclean 13" wheels, con whitewalls.
Black Magic hydraulic system, that will put your front end up, 6' in the air.
Also, 24k gold sign to mount in your rear windshield that says, "Penngrove 4 Life".

Whoah! Scott! Where ya been buddy? So white walls n baby daytons huh? Nice call on the gold car club sign. I was thinking "P-Grove Playazzzz" maybe?

Ok ok, enough with all this low rider nonsense. Impalas were hot rods and drag racers long before they were candy coated and hydro'd with Aztec warrior murals on the hood!
