Learn something new every day... I just assumed it was 19 because I never could get anymore in the tank. Lol.

Yeah I never let it go below 1/4 tank mark anyways. I fill up around 15-16 gallons at that mark so I know I have about 6 gallons so I never need the idiot light to tell me I'm low on fuel :D

Toyota had a perfect blueprint for the 2016 Tacoma if they would have made the 2016 Tacoma like the 2005 Tundra. Retro perfect. They would have hit it out of the park and smoked the competition for ten more years.

This doesn't prove much though...in my 2015 DCLB my fuel gauge stays on "full" for the first 50 miles or so, whether freeway or on the street. Then, over the next 50-60 miles, it goes all the way down to 3/4.

Basically my gauge would show the same thing as your lexus and I could say "wow" as well. Then the needle starts to plummet.

Well every vehicle is different and that wasn't my experience with mine. You can think what you want. ;)

Lol, well I wish the rest of my tank was as "efficient" as the first 1/4 of my tank...I would get well over 400 miles out of each fill up in that case. As it is, I average about 17-18 so far (only have 450 miles on the truck). Thats only 1 mpg or so less than my GTO, and I'm fine with that. I didn't buy a truck to save on my gas budget, I bought it to have a useful/practical daily driver.

Well after further review... Actually pushing daisy, I am avg about I was in my taco which was 18 mpg... Which I think is pretty impressive for a 16 year old SUV. Lol

Other then the side view looking the similar, the front looks like it belongs to a Ford. Maybe Toyota is setting it's goals higher then we think. They can't catch the f150 with a Tundra, so let's try an end run with the Taco.

You burn a half tank of gas in 40 miles in your '07?

Also, your '07 doesn't have a 21 gal tank? :notsure:

The Gen 3 is growing on me but it will be hard pressed to be a nicer looking truck than my current. Not my photos but you get the idea.

Just imagine everyone that bought the ugly ass Canyon, Colorado and nasty looking Frontier. They didn't like the looks of the Tacoma and yet we did.

I hope I can get used to the front end as well. My debate right now is how much will toyota rebate the 2015s in the next 3 mo. when the 16 hits the lots. Right now my local Toyo dealer has $5,000 rebate on all Taco's. Takes the TRD Sport 4x4 quad cab w/ ATrac from 35k down to 30k..... Id like to see 7k rebates. I really love the look of the 15' but the expectation of 30% better fuel mileage and more power is appealing as I intend to use it as a main vehicle.... Of course 5-7k would buy a LOT of extra gas to make up the difference too.
Why is toyota keeping MPG such a secret? Afraid to let Nissan know, or afraid to let us know because it isnt much of an approvement?
