I went in and didn't give the dealer any contact information besides maybe a free email account and my first name. Seemed to set the tone for the beginning of the negotiations. Got down pretty close to invoice plus a few things thrown in. Just remember don't let them call the shots and if going in with a trade-in have an alternative to leaving, all you have to do is just leave if something doesn't sound good to you or the [st]ealer is not listening to you. I told them what I wanted to pay and said I don't NEED this vehicle and I don't WANT it bad enough to pay what you WANT for it.

The things thrown in for me was extended warranty and a free car care plan.

    I felt successful.

^^^^^^I think he's talking about tires.

I always find the cheapest internet price and have them match it or beat it.

Also, I have used the tire protection plan a few times, so it's worth it.

Generally, there is not alot of mark up on tires....Find the place you trust, who has good customer service, and support your local shop. :)

yea pretty much just shop around locally to find the best price, then go online and find it cheaper, then go to the lowest local dealer and they will match the price on the tires usually

Actually....No. I have a shop I go to, and they always seem to be about $10.00 off of the internet. And they give me great service.

You're lucky. I haven't found a tire shop here in Vegas that isn't trying to take your unborn.

yeah it seems to me there is a lot of room for negotiating price on tires. I have been price shopping for the 265/70R16 General Grabber AT2 and have it down from a price I got of $166.96 per tire down to $98 per tire.

That's a big mark up for a tire isn't it?

So with all 4 mounted/balanced and all the free stuff that goes along with it. the total price will be $472

Best thing to do, IMO, is find the cheapest price online and go to AMERICAS TIRE/DISCOUNT TIRE and have them match the price. I got my 33" KM2's for less than $800 out the door.

I usually go into a place and say what is your cash price? I have been treated better by Big O than discount in my areas. So Cash is usually king, if you have it use it.

Yea, but how much do you save when shipping is added? Or is it free shipping?

    Just wondering.
