That's BADASS. Love your truck. How bad/hard was the satoshi mod and where'd you get the scooped hood?

Thanks man. Satoshi is a reasonable pain in the ass but not rocket surgery. Just time consuming. If you can follow instructions carefully you can do it. I managed to find the hood on Craigslist shortly after buying the truck. I lucked out big time because I found it shortly after buying my truck and haven't seen another one since in years. Looks like you're in a more populated area so perhaps you'll have better luck either there or here on the forum. Seems like most all of them are in Southern California though so good luck.

To the best of my knowledge Toyota only made them in 16" sizes. I know when I had my Audi's there were lots of knock-offs of factory wheels in various sizes so maybe check eBay or someplace for something like that.

A quick update as I recently did a few more mods and acquired a few more. I just did a retrofit HID kit which I ordered from DDM since it was about half the price of other vendors. I went with the v3 projector housing and the basic gatling gun shroud with a 35 watt ballast/starter (replacing the 50 watt I had previously) and a 4300k bulb for an OEM look. I also did a BHLM while I had the headlights apart. In all I'm quite happy with the mod (so far) and even survived a carwash w/o any leaking or fogging so here's to hoping I got it resealed properly.

I also got an All-Pro front bumper from someone here. I wanted an aluminum bumper but for the price I paid it was a no-brainer. In the process of ordering up suspension components to handle the weight addition (leaning OME 887 springs to go on my 5100's up front and Dakar leaf pack out back for a 3" lift this time 'round) and once I get everything I can install the new (to me) bumper. Starting to get excited for how this will all come together as I always wanted to go slightly higher than my 5100 set to the middle setting and TSB rear but never really had the motivation as I was quite content with the ride and stance that my truck had. Since my stance and handling would go to poo with stock springs on 5100's I'm using this as an excuse to go 3" and get proper weight support all at the same time.

I've got a couple other mods in the works that should happen sooner than later with the warmer weather and as I get time to spend in the garage coupled with (I assume) my back and shoulder healing so I can be out there for hours on end installing all these mods.

Here's a (terrible) picture to give you an idea of how the front end looks with the new headlights. I'll get better pictures once the bumper and lift are all done.

    Before yesterday's workday:

Here's a couple of crappy after pictures. I'll get some better pictures soon:

I apologize for this quality of this picture (I didn't realize it was blurry when I took it) but it's all I have that you can see (kind of) what the bumper looks like on the truck after the install. It still needs some adjustment and some tweaking as it was more bent up than I had thought but it's on and I'm going to get it aligned now shortly. Once I get some better pictures I'll put them up and update the OP with a more current shot.

Adding another mod to the list: Upper Control Arms. As some of you may have seen in another thread, after the suspension mods I just added I was unable to get a satisfactory alignment (pic below) out of the factory UCA's. No surprise really. I had hoped that I would be one of the lucky few who went OME fronts and still got a reasonable alignment on the other side. No dice. Light Racing UCA's are en route and I'll probably get them installed shortly after they arrive. The back of the truck is still pretty high as compared to the front and I expect that to settle a little bit more but I may be adding a Toytec 1/2" spacer to the front if they don't settle too much more to level things out a bit more. I like where the rear is sitting currently a lot more than the front but I know it's a matter of time before that rear end sits down a little bit more so I don't want to make any decisions right now and end up with bro lean. I may just wait to put the UCA's in until that time so I can do my front plate or 5100 adjustment at that time and get one alignment when I'm all done. Probably makes more sense. So yeah, at least UCA's will be added to the list. More to come...

Nice. I have Light Racing on mine and Jace was able to do magic with the alignment for me.

Yeah, reading the specs on the LR UCA's they add a TON of adjustability that will more than get me to where I want to be. I also like that they're more like the OEM UCA's as far as maintenance and what not especially for areas of cold/snow like where we live. I also like that they're $375 shipped from Headstrong. ;)

Fuel consumption isn't a primary concern of mine. If it was, I wouldn't drive a supercharged Tacoma. I probably get about 16mpg mixed driving (mostly city) driving like an a-hole everywhere. I do notice that my Tacoma drives better when hauling a trailer, driving in the mountains or both than my friend's non-supercharged Tacomas so take that for what it's worth. Bottom line is if you're concerned about MPG & a few bucks extra per tank then the $6k or so price tag for a supercharger/install should be nauseating.
