It wasn't crossed. Crank bolt is being replaced for sure as well as crank seal. Threads actually looked fine on both the bolt and crank.
I think it was retardation but I really don't like to point fingers at Pederson.

Even though to date they have..
fucked up my ex wife's car, did an oil change and forgot to add all the oil. She drove to Greeley before the idiot light came on, then drove it back. That cost Pederson a top end rebuild. And I had to fight for it, they claimed it was her responsibility to check the level when she picked it up. I can just see all the elderly grandma's checking their oil when they pick up the Avalon.

Ex wife also got rear ended and the dealership replaced the rear bumper, color didn't match. How many shades of blue are there on a Camry?

They didn't do the rear leafs right on my friends truck, nothing really detrimental, but nevertheless shortcuts were obviously taken. Loose centering pins mean mis-aligned rear ends.

Installed a Clear Bra on my Mom's car, it had a few hairs under it, they had to redo that of course.

I mean some minor stuff really... but it's been just about every visit. I haven't been back to the service dept. for several years now but will still buy stuff from the parts dept.

To be honest, now that it's getting a new Harmonic balancer (from O'Reilly) and the crank has been beat on a bit I'm wondering how it's going to run. I'll let you guys know for sure.

Yep, they had a similar tool, I should have taken a pic of the tool sitting on the bench with my broken rubber dampener bolted to it.

They had to use a chain clamp around the rest of the balancer to hold it in place, then they hit it with the big impact.

Just to clarify, I'm only talking about Pederson here, I'm not blaming them for the bolt but it did come up in conversation and I felt the need to rant, I feel better now.
I know we have two very qualified mechanics right here on this forum and I am in no way saying anything bad about them or the companies they work for. They certainly seem to have a loyal following here and if I were closer I would probably be taking it to them for the stuff I don't want to do. I give praise where praise is earned and will also let people know when it was not.

My opinion is based largely on working at a car dealership formerly and to a lesser degree experiences as a customer and others I know at the same capacity. The largest in Northern Colorado in fact so it wasn't some fly-by-night place I got my experiences from. I'm sure those who work for them on this forum may even agree with what I'm saying overall while I will readily admit there are lots of good ones and good people within the bad ones even. It's too bad that the good ones are overshadowed by a percentage of bad ones that is way to high IMO. I wouldn't say Pedersen Toyota in Fort Collins is a bad Toyota dealership (I actually think they're one of the better dealerships around these parts) but let's be honest... your situation shouldn't have happened and they're to blame for it. Call a spade a spade I always say.

A small handful of select mods.
Yesterday he had tires that were smaller then all of ours on a bigger truck. :p

And those aren't MODS - tint is necessary and derp is just a temporary commitment. Lift, sliders, belly armor, and tires. DO IT!:D

My wife has almost given up hope for the truck. I have put dents in almost every body panel, cut the bedsides, twisted them replaced the drive shaft and it has a few unexplainable clicks and clunks. But she enjoys the places that we can go in it!

Huh? Mine thinks that mine is pretty cool but just doesn't like the really long trail rides. I think she likes that I stay out of her hair so long as I am in the garage working on it. Oh and if I spend a chunk on it she gets an excuse to spend a chunk on something else. But I don't get the "that damn truck" or "your truck is fugly". What am I doing wrong?

Yeah Rochelle likes the places we can go but not the long ride there. She has never said anything about it except the mileage decreasing with the nittos. I told her she can buy me a second set she hasn't said anything since
