Got everything aligned last week and drove to Brevard, NC. 2.4 caster, 0 camber, and 0 toe. It drove straight and true. Its still a bit stiff, i'm thinking I have to much preload on the CO's.

I have 2.25" of thread showing on the drivers side and just under 2" on the passenger. I really like the way it sits now, but maybe I'll lower them just a little this weekend.

I do have a light clunk in the front end if i hit the bigger bumps faster. This tells me that I probably do have too much preload on the coils or either they are not charged to 200psi (going to get that checked this week).

I'm looking to debadge at some point..maybe this weekend.

I'm not sure exactly. I got about 2" between the top threads and the top of the bottom black ring. Truck measures 39 1/2 from the ground to the bottom of the front fender flare. I do know that you wouldn't want to go any higher. They have an aweful clunk if they are set much higher.

I've been slowly cranking them down until the ride is perfect and no more clunking can be heard.

I've been playing with the CO's for a while now trying to get them at just the right setting. The passenger side ride is perfect, but the driver is still a bit too stiff (a small amount of clunking, etc.). It sits level with a full tank of gas though, so I don't know if i want to go any lower. Whacha think?

Had this baby offroad already and she flexes like a mofo, I'll get some pictures this weekend.

    Skid Plate:
Got the skid plate Line X'd this week. Cost $100 with a warranty (which i wasn't expecting being that its a skid plate).

    Bike Mount:
This has been done since day one, but just in case anyone else was wondering how to do this with local hardware store supplies.I used 4 metric bolts (about 2.5' long) with thumb screws and 2 large washers inside the rail. Cost about $2. Very simple and works well.

    Thanks!

For me the Fox's really didn't shine until i removed the sway bar. Its not for everyone, but for my setup they work great! I've heard the Kings are a solid choice too.

I've been wanting to ask someone about that...im a car/bike guy...and with cars, and sway bar is a good thing!! haha obviously, so what is the advantage to removing it from the truck?

I hear ya, I drag a knee too.

    Advantages:
More flex and a generally smoother ride while going slow. You can shave a bit of weight from the front too. Each front wheel can move independent of the other. With a sway bar movement is limited to control body roll.

    Disadvantages:
Body roll and drifting at highway speeds. (although I drive at highway speeds all the time). Its not bad as long as you don't drive like a 16yr old kid in a civic.

For me, the body roll wasn't bad enough for me to put the sway back on. I wouldn't remove it on a stock truck, the factory coils are too soft.

    n/p

I had an older GLI a couple of years back..I think it was a 2004 with the VR6. That thing was fun to tinker with. Best mods were def a short shifter for the 6 speed and a poly dog bone mount! Can't forget the Magnaflow exhaust too, they sound great!
