    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    The amendment to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act released Thursday prohibits service providers from using the law as a legal defense for refusing to provide services, goods, facilities or accommodations. It also bars discrimination based on race, color, religion, ancestry, age, national origin, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or United States military service.

    A conference committee must discuss the proposed changes to the law, and both the House and the Senate will need to approve them before they can go to Gov. Mike Pence.

    Pence called for changes to clarify the law Tuesday in response to an uproar fueled by discrimination concerns.

    Good post and agree. It's the 90's for God's sake.
    I think a follow up question is for the other half who do not "get it".
    Should they have the right to turn away customers under the same blanket of freedom?

    I find it interesting, depressing and somewhat embarrassing that we as a collective human race are moving backwards in terms of tolerance of one another in terms of race, color, creed, sexual orientation, etc..

    I used to believe that it was learned in socioeconomic or sociodemographic driven but, know this not to be the case on a personal level. I think it lends itself more to the likes of an animal pack instinct and deeper into the human insecurity.

    If this is true, I hope they pass more laws like this around the country. They just back through the door to a non discrimination law in state without one covering sexual identity and orientation before..... kind of a win win, pass a now meaningless law then pass the opposite to cover the first.

    I doubt the politicians who made this law ever really cared about protecting religious "freedom" of business owners in the first place. More likely they were just pandering for votes by trying to appeal to the fringe/extremist views of their base, knowing that those are the folks most likely to turn out in the next election. 2014 midterms had a very low voter turnout.

    On the news today, dont know if anyone has brought this up-Saw in Kenya there was a college that was shot up by terrorist, and they were targeting Christians. I grew up Baptist, and have a pretty good standpoint on other religions, and how i feel about them-i could talk all day and probably offend someone, so im just gonna leave this here-i think everyone should be able to enjoy their religion, and i think that the Muslim religion, is getting very iffy? They say there a religion of God and Peace, but you see them over in the middle east lopping peoples heads off for not believing in the Muslim religion. Its very sad, and i hope that everything turns out good in the upcoming months!
