I'd go with ICON stage 3 or 4, Pelfreybilt armor, SCS wheels and tires.

A little late to the party but...

First thing I would get is the supercharger. You'll get the most satisfaction most of the time form this one mod. It's not cheap, but well worth it. It would leave a lot left for other parts as well. I haven't' added it all up but including the SC for about $6000, I don't think I've got $10k in "upgrades" yet and I'm nearly done.

That compound interest chart assumes a 7% annual interest earnings. Anyone out there get 7% for their savings account? If so please PM me with name and phone number of your bank.. DON'T CONFUSE ME WITH THE FACTS. Facts are the more you save the more you'll have later but no guarantee the savings are going to compound in a savings account. Stock market - yes over time.

No guarantees in the stock market either. Just ask anyone who had large stakes in financial companies before the last recession.

What is it with Americans and stocks? Stocks are among the least secure ways to hold money, unless you go with extremely stable companies that often pay little more than other revenue sources.

Diversify your portfolio, don't concentrate on any one source of interest/revenue to be your winner. Take lots of risks with little amounts of money and little risks with the bulk of your money. It's not rocket science. Actually, the first thing anyone should do is find a GOOD, well recommended by multiple people you personally know, financial adviser who can help you divide up your risk.

I'm averaging above 7% return over than last 5 years. I own 0 stocks exactly personally, though I do have holdings in some mutual funds.

I think you have that backwards. There's no guarantee that savings are going to compound over time with stock market investments. With a savings account, your savings are guaranteed by the federal gov't in pretty much all developed countries (up to a limit that varies) and negative returns are impossible. 7% is representative of past US stock market returns over the very long term and is pretty common for illustrations like the one above.

Government of Canada only insures the first $100K if I remember correctly. That's not all that much money. At least in Canada that money is secured with the value being determined by a large selection of foreign currencies. I think the US dollar is secured against the euro and pound....

You're right about $100k in Canada. Above that your deposits are still backed by your bank, which is better than the absolutely no guarantee you get with a stock market investment. Also.. if you have more than $100k in a regular savings account you might be doing it wrong... or your liquidity needs are pretty crazy.

We get significant federal income tax incentives for contributing to 401k or ROTH IRA retirement accounts set up by our employers, that can't be touched without penalty until age 55 or older.

Those tax incentives alone can easily add up to hundreds of thousands of additional retirement income over 20 - 30 years of contributions for the average American. That's why so many Americans are heavily invested in stocks through mutual funds.

These retirement funds can only rarely be invested in individual stocks. Usually they only allow investments in mutual funds, bonds, and money markets.

Y'all get the fuck outta here with all of this "Invest in your future" shit. That isn't what this thread is about and I guarantee you no one except for you select few give a shit about discussing that in this thread. This is about what list you have of truck parts that you want and is roughly ten grand. If you want to be a stick in the ass and lecture us about spending money on our trucks then get off tacomaworld.

Now personally, I'd spend the ten grand on a 4x4 swap (coming soon anyways) then LT the front and back. I'd really be pushing the $10k limit but I'd do all the work myself and source most of the parts used. lmao.

We have RRSP's, though our amount allowed per year "banks" so for right now I'm mostly invested in a company/paycheck funded program that actually gets in under pension law somehow. I'll start maxing out my RRSP soon though, I'm just waiting to pay off the last bit of divorce debt I have.

I agree with the last post though. I'm still laughing at how this turned into a big saving discussion.

With 10K, personally, I'd road trip to Baja. That will buy you a year's worth of hookers, seafood, cerveza, smoke and lot rent in Ensenada. Truck parts only last a few years but memories last forever. ;)

Both are equally as easy/hard to find.

I think Bernie Madoff came VERY highly recommended at one point in time.:)

I think there's too many stories about your financial advisor stealing money or just the "fees" you get to pay whether they make you money or not that scares many away from seeking out a financial advisor. Sometimes those "fees" can negate any interest/growth your money has made. It's like finding an honest mechanic for those who know nothing about cars/trucks.
