It can go off the road. Take it off-road until it gets stuck; then, you'll know it's limits.

Alot of stuff. You should probably read the manual to learn about functions of its specific systems and the search those same things here for better understanding.

All right I was just talking about some generalities. like don't take it to the sand dunes. or the beach. Cause Ive seen some badass monster builds that look like they are ready to go to war and mine is Stock. I don't want to head to the trails and try to roll with the big guys if my truck cant. I will start building it up but not until I pay it off...

Take it on some fire trails with some friends. Only thing that you should do for simple trail stuff is put some better AT tires than those stock rugged trails.

Your profile indicates you have a Pre Runner. A PreRunner in SoCal can do a lot of the trails found around here. There are several guidebooks on trails for CA. When it's dry, your truck can likely do all the 'easy' trails and a few of the 'moderate' ones as well. Go with another 4x4 and a tow strap... you won't be disappointed.

All you need is clearance and good tires for some decent trail riding; that can all be done for under $1000. Other things (winch, locker, sliders, etc) help, but some good mud terrains or all terrains and some clearance will allow you to go on most mild trails.

Actually, get some decent tires....then "take it off-road until it gets stuck; then, you'll know it's limits.' Until you have decent tires all you will find is the limits of the the crap stock tires.
