2005 knock 2 sensor wiring diagram

Anyone deal with the knock 2 sensors throwing codes? Im trying to find a good diagram or pictures showing where the wiring is outside the engine so I can check for wires that have possibly been chewed on by mice or rats. Thank you any help would be appreciated!

 

It was most likely chewed under the intake. There is a small harness that plugs into both knock sensors and then plugs into main harness. You can order from dealership for $20 or less. I repaired many of these and that was always the area that was chewed.

 

Copy thanks man I'll have to check it out I worked at a station that possibly had rats near by and I'm hoping that's all that is wrong I'll take a look now that I know where to check. Will this require any dismantlement to take a look?

Yeah I'm pretty bummed to fix and replace everything a mechanic that knows what's going on can do it in 18 hours. It would take me forever I was hoping it was a simpler fix

You could always take it to the dealership. We used to stock the harness. I never pulled the lower intake off. I would just use long picks to unplug and plug in the new harness. The pigtail harness plugged into the main harness at the back of the engine. They were sometimes chewed all the way to the plug. For some reason I think Toyota coated that harness in sugar. We had quite a few come in for repair. I did the first one back in 2003 on a 4Runner and did it under warranty because I had no idea it had been chewed until I tore into it.

 

Haha yeah from what I've read the rats love to eat them! But I took a look at the truck today I took the plastic cover off to see if I could see anything I couldn't really see much. Do I need to take all the air intake components off to get to the plug and harness and wires?

 

Yes and the upper intake. I wouldn't do anything until you have that pigtails harness that plugs into both knock sensors. I wish you were close I can do them pretty quick or at least I did when I was still with Toyota.

 

To have the dealer replace the harness is $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Chipmunks ate mine.

Yeah I wish you were close too then you could take a look and tell me where the wires are exactly because the diagram doesn't show exactly where all the wires run. And unfortunately I'm not a mechanic and its my only vehicle so I can't take it apart and not have it back together and running before I go back to work
