Rob--I'm going to have to replace my driver's side headlight assembly before inspection time (May) and I was wondering if you ever get your hands on aftermarket set ups for the Tacoma (halos/HIDs, black backing, etc) and if not what would expect to pay for a plain jane stock one?

What brand did you go with?

Not sure exactly how mine runs so I could be in for a cluster, but what I have in there now is junk so it has to be done

I ended up just getting a giant roll of generic @ You-Do-It in Needham. My sub wiring was Scosche from years prior. I actually have two separate wiring kits for each amp. Both were Fosgate. If I were to do it again, I'd run a single 4 gauge back to a distribution block in the back of the car and split it there. I do have the RCAs and power split though. I think each amp is on 8 gauge, which is more than enough seeing as they're not powerful amps.

I pulled all new wire for my components. I left the co-ax in the back doors wired to the HU for fill.

If I ever do the Tacoma, I'll probably get a line level converter and use the signal from the deck for a powered sub. I don't want to lose the rear space anymore. I've actually got a spare Polk sub from way back in the day on a shelf in case the other one I have blows. They're not rumbly, but they hit really tight. I really like the sound I've got from Polk. It's been YEARS since I was into audio. All I remember from back then was JVC had the coolest looking decks, Pioneer was the best budget deck, Sony was awful, and MTX was just noise but no quality.

    EDIT:

Finally got enough for my lift, just debating if I should order now or wait a bit until it's warmer and I can actually install it. Most of my projects lay around for a year before I do them and I'm trying to break myself of that habit.

x2, definitely no bargain there unless you really know what you're getting into.

Top of my skull I'm powering 4ga in..4 or 8ga out of the block.

Generic would be my way if it was for my subs, but I don't wanna make more work having to pull again and again plus open my doors up to save a couple bucks either.

The last sentence really won me over. I am going to remember that and use it next time someone tries to haggle with me over blue book price.

Bite your tongue :smack: Yuengling and Bud shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence. Bud is one grade above horse piss. I do like Sam, but I was one of the people who was very happy to see Yuengling come to MA.

    Morning all... I don't log on for a day and miss 4 pages?? I can't keep up - I need a synopsis.

On my way home Thursday from taking my daughter to her horseback riding lessons, I found out my '13 stock leaf springs are, well, garbage. I hit a not too deep hole and slammed the rear axle to the bump stop. Only had my daughter and her friends who are string bean Tweens so there was not much weight in the truck. I have 3 leaves plus an overload and they are basically flat on a truck with 11k on the clock. Heck the Falcon has 6 leaves... Looks like at some point, new springs will be needed, especially if I want to carry anything...

Agree heartily. While I like Sam, I can only have a couple before I am full - Yuengling just keeps getting easier to drink.
