Back when I had my 2011 and my daughter was 6 she asked me the name of my truck. I told her it was a Tacoma. She said "no... what's his name?" I told her I don't know since I've never named a truck. She then informed me his name was "Bear". I told her Bear is a good name and it stuck. She was in love with that truck since it is the first vehicle that she really remembers and we took a lot of good trips in it. She became VERY attached to it.

I decided to trade it in on a loaded 13 4x4 one day on a whim because I wanted every single option that you could get on it. I picked her up from school one day and while walking out I told her that I had something to show her. She immediately looked me straight in the eye and said "DID YOU GET RID OF BEAR????" I told her to just look. Truck looked identical to the previous truck with the exception of all the new stuff. Tears started rolling down her face and I felt like shit. I had to make up this huge story that "Bear" had gone off to "car college" and this truck was his little brother. So... She ended up naming it "Little Bear". There is no way in hell I can sell this truck now (nor do I want too). She would kill me if I did.

I just refer to mine as "the Tacoma"

    Any connection to the song?

I prefer the Unplugged version myself.

That's one of the best stories I've heard for a vehicle getting its name.
When I got mine, my friends and I would roll around playing Ingress. It was dubbed "War Wagon" from then on. Not too original or anything but hey it works.
