    I was baptized and grew up strict Catholic, whole 9 yards and haven't been to a regular service in 20 years. I've always felt the same about this subject.

    In my eyes they have the right to their opinion and to act this way if they wish. I have the right to refuse to do business with them even as a heterosexual person.

    There is a little flaw in this logic. It is not "some one" who is getting the short end. It is "some what" - a business. Which is quite different from a person. And arbitrarily assigning the human attributes such as religion to a business is not a correct approach.

    This law doesn't impede on equality.

    Its a privately owned business. Private business's have always had the right to refuse business as they see fit. This law is redundant.

    My question is why are gays so special? If I'm refused service but am straight, that's ok... but if Im gay, its discriminating... I don't understand.

    My guess about "why special" would be - because they are discimitated against. You know. Like people who discriminated against in political reasons are special too - they can get an asilum in another countries just based on that. In your country too, btw. Nothing wrong with that.
