I'm looking to buy a used Tacoma. I have the opportunity to purchase a 2012 Baja or a 2012 Pro and I'm looking for any opinions on which one is better. I searched this topic but didn't really come up with much. I will be using the Tacoma for trips hunting, fishing and hiking and will be driving the truck mostly on washboard roads and two track trails. As a stock vehicle, which vehicle do you think would serve my needs better?

Any help would very much be appreciated.

    Thanks

No such thing as 2012 Pro.

They both have, essentially, the same suspension. So it's up to you what style you like more.

I think you mean a tx pro or a tx baja.

They are different as the tx pro has the beadlock Trd rims and Trd exhaust.

The baja has both of the above as well as the upgraded suspension.

And yes, the 2012-14 bajas are essentially the same thing as the 2015 trd pro.

Hope this helps. Personally, I love my baja and everything about the upgraded suspension. If your happy with the price and the condition is to your liking, I say get the baja.

Definitely go Baja. You get the Baja suspension thats tuned for washboarding. Rides really nice on different terrain. Front end lift is really nice too and you'll be glad you have it for hunting and fishing.

The TX Pro has a little bit more horsepower if I recall.

"The real knockout punch from the T|X Pro package, however, is the TRD sport-tuned exhaust system that delivers a deep sound and extra power to spin the wheels slightly from a standing start."

If you look in the engine you'll notice they have copper/gold colored headers.

Baja hands down. It's got all of the T/X Pro and then some, like the upgraded suspension and rare wheels. After all, the full name for it is the Toyota Tacoma T/X Pro Baja Series lol

This guy touches on it a little bit and you can see it in the video. I should have said exhaust manifold to be a little more correct. I've looked a TX Pro and a regular truck side by side. You can tell the difference. I've also talked to owners of them, like the guy who posted above, that notice the additional horsepower. This is an old dealership video. Watch at 2:40 and again at 5:10
