B has been discontinued. Additionally, if you get a restricted license they have to inform you, in writing, as to why you have been restricted and you can fight it in court. IANAL and this is my interpretation

Even the free states I'm not fond of. It's far better, but I still don't find it better than a Glock or as good as the VP9. IMWO that is the gold standard on striker triggers.

Guide for those who don't know
    IMWO: In my worthless opinion
IANAL: I am not a lawyer

Careful where you go slinging that last one around....

Personally, I prefer the trigger on my Shield to my G19. And I prefer the trigger on my SR1911 to the trigger on my Shield. And I prefer the trigger on my 5906 most of all :D

I got my restrictions lifted about a month or so ago. When I called to get them lifted I was told "If I process everything today, expect your new license in about 4 weeks" and I had mine in two.

My SR is about to go bye bye. Debating on trying to carry the VP9 and getting a STI Spartan or just picking up a XDs. Or maybe a G26....

Blech. Can't stand the XD series. None of them feel 'right' in my hand.
Too bad, too. I really tried to like them, since they get such good reviews. But in the end it was a nope.

My youngest just walked back in from her drivers lic test and I don't think her feet touched the floor. She is very happy and proud.

Congrats to her (and you), Bill!
I remember that feeling like it was yesterday! I burned a whole tank of gas on my shitty old Aries just driving randomly around after I passed my test.

I was the same way Noel, I had a Mustang II that I disappeared in with my buddies. I asked her where she was going first and she said she has to wait till Monday for it to be active due to paperwork not being processed on the weekend.

Congrats for her! how do you feel about it? I can see that as being both exciting and scary at the same time.

I worry like anyone would but she is a good kid with a good head on her shoulders. Plus I still have rules that she needs to follow

So yesterday I'm sitting outback with my drivers admiring the scenery "aka" girls jogging by my work, when this older woman pulls up in a Mazda cx9. It's making some horrible noise. She asked if we could take a look at it as it had been clunking from the motor all morning... Being an auto parts guy I asked her if she was low on oil and when the last time she had the oil changed was.... The look on her face said what is oil? The suv hadn't had an oil change in about 30k, that was the best we could decipher from the questions we asked her..... She shut it off when she pulled up... It never started again.... Poor lady was crying about how her husband died like 3 years ago.... I felt horrible but at that point there was nothing I could do.....

Sucks but I have heard of these types of things quite a bit. One woman did the same thing in a brand new S500. She was trading it in, 3yo 36K and she was complaining that it was making noise. They asked her when the last time it was serviced and she said she bought it brand new so it never needed anykind of service. It never had a oil change

    Torture!!!

When I was writing service at a garage we had a guy bring in an old Ford E350 box truck for an oil change. That motor was rapping like crazy when the tech brought it into the shop. The tech got the truck up in the air and pulled the drain plug and nothing came out. He dropped the truck back down and pulled the dipstick, and it had oil on it. Not GOOD oil (sludgy black burnt-on tar-looking oil), but it was there. He put the truck back up in the air and stuck a probe up through the drain plug a couple of times and it started draining. When it was done draining he dropped it down, refilled it with the recommended amount, and started it up. The rapping was gone, but the oil pressure gauge skyrocketed and the oil light and check engine lights came on, so he shut it down right away. Checked the dipstick and it was WAY overfilled, which didn't make any sense because we'd refilled it with bottles.

Turns out the guy hadn't had the oil changed in a VERY long time (he didn't remember when the last time was), he'd just been adding more oil whenever the oil light would come on. We drained it out again, dropped the oil pan, and found probably at least 3 quarts of baked-on sludge in the oil pan. The tech had to use a paint scraper to get it out of there. The oil change ended up costing that guy over $500, but it certainly raised my level of respect for the Ford Windsor motor because after we were done it still ran, and the guy drove off in it.
