The night run we did on argentine last summer, I only had headlights. It's fine.
Your biggest concern if you're going with gramps should be his light setup starting a forest fire

Where are you guys planning on meeting up? I'm not sure how technical the trails are or how my almost stock '11 will do, but this sure sounds like a fun way to find out.

I'll bring a magnifying glass so if we need to, we can burn ants in the dark.

Snow/mud can make it way more difficult fast. We should have plenty of recovery gear between us though. :D

    99% chance I'll be there.

If you know where it is we can all meet at the parking lot above Central City by the cemeteries.

If you don't know where that is I will be leaving around 3pm from the Columbine area (wads and bowles).

Thanks Andy. Just checked out the trail damage ratings, but wasn't too sure how they measured their scale of difficulty.

I've never been near that area. I'm open and can meet anywhere but something to plug into the gps would be cool

The Charles Wells books are also nice to have. Especially for somewhere like Yankee Hill where there are dozens of side roads.

Sounds like that's right at the trail head and I believe I have the coordinates now. 99% sure I'll be there

I could see motivating my ass to roll out there this afternoon.

So to clarify (it sounds like some folks are leaving Denver at 3) - are we meeting at the parking lot by the cemetery at 3, or at 4?

Don't read this post. See post #9517 below to avoid any confusion on said word day(s) as well as any confusion I may have caused about the other trail run that's going on this afternoon.

    What: Impromptu and unorganized workday
    Where: Sak's shack
    When: Saturday and/or Sunday.... sometime

For those of you who didn't follow the BS thread I got a plate bumper, OME 887's and Dakar rear leaf packs for my Tacoma. I plan to take a run at slapping it all on this weekend but I'm still nursing both a back and a shoulder injury due to being more awesome than my body was able to contain apparently. At any rate, I plan to work on these things here and there during the course of the weekend and as of right now I can't do an all-day Saturday because the in-laws are going to be in town any minute and I'll need to devote a couple of hours to that. Other than that I think I'm free the rest of the day & night and most of tomorrow. I know there's a run planned tomorrow afternoon so I'm not sure how that will affect people being able to come by. I'll have probably some garage space and tools for people to work on some stuff but I will be focused on getting this truck done with as little additional wear on my back/shoulder as possible. There will be TV/music and libations. If it doesn't pan out well we could try to plan something with a little more notice like during the week for those who are free or possibly next weekend. I guess I'm more anxious to get this done now that I have parts than I thought I would be. So, if anyone wants to come by add yourself to the list and hit me up via PM or text to get my address/directions and let me know about when you want to come by. Experience doing plate bumpers, leaf packs or front springs an added bonus.

Are the 887s on new shocks? If so, are they assembled?
I am off the next week but am going to be out of town for a good portion of it, starting today.

No, 887's are solo. Nothing is assembled. I'm currently running stock springs on 5100's which I swapped out myself last year. That's why I keep telling people you don't need anything fancy and can do it with hand tools and people think I'm making Incredible Hulk jokes or something. :p Relatively easy to do w/o a compressor or any of that jazz. Planned to do the same thing to remove the stockers and pop these in.

You guys are doing that today? I must have misread what you said because I coulda swore it was tomorrow. If that's the case maybe I'll move my work day from a tentative both days to a solid tomorrow that way those that are going on the trail run today can come by tomorrow if they wanted. Reedin comprehenshun werkx geud. :D
