Never ending debate, but I recently went to an Aimpoint T2 from an EOTech XPS3 and now that nagging feeling of "will my EOTech run out of batteries at the range" is no longer an issue. Also, I had to push a button to turn on the EOTech, then several more times to get to the desired brightness level. My EOTech is always on. And the 2 MOA dot is perfect for getting hits out as far as I can accurately ID targets. I saved about 5 oz going from one to the other, so not a ton of weight difference. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Collectively I have many of each and prefer the Aimpoint overall.
My issued EoT just sucked batteries down like a hungry stripper. With that being said there has been an improvement on the battery life so I still buy them on certain guns for certain applications. The halo's are clear and some prefer a holo in a CQB situation. Yet the reticle is still a bit goofy to me.

I did pick up my first Aimpoint Comp M4 and loooove it. Set the light on #7 and never turn it off. It will be ready to go 24/7 and the battery life is said to be 3+ years never shutting it down. I have not turned mine off in 2 months and it is just a solid mount and has been through hundreds of rounds.
I also have no issue factoring in the that it looks awesome. I get function over form but, we all care a little about our guns look like.

If you are interested in an ACOG, I have a couple very nice ones that consider selling. I can also send some pics of the sights mounted.

    *cough Aimpoint.

Good stuff here ^ Havent used a Weaver in years but, I take his word if he likes Vortex :woot:

I do now occasionally due to an accident a few years back in my Tacoma and now have eye issues.

I have an aimpoint T-1 2MOAdot. 70,000 hour battery life. I've had it on brightness setting 9 of 12 since I got it and it's still on lol. 3 years later. Eotech has a 1000 hour battery life, that's a month.

After having a battery turn a light on one of my rifles into a pipe bomb inside the safe, no more batteries go in there. It's a PITA sometimes, but dealing with an explosion & fire inside a safe will really make your butt hole pucker

Don't know. Light mfg tried to say the light had to have been left on, but I assured them it hadn't. Sent the pieces to them, they performed an autopsy, and determined it was not left on. They didn't want to cover damages...'til I lawyered up. About $2k to get everything cleaned up & replace inside of safe.

Damn haha that's a battery problem most likely, lithium cr123? Those are dangerous. More so than rechargable lithium ion.

Like I said, yes. I feel it helps after that 3 year mess. I actually learned to use the magnifier nicely during my eye rehab.
There is much to learn about magnifiers. I do not use anything larger than a 3x. Shooting at 300 yards at a torso with a scope with 2moa will take up 6 inches of space and so on. So magnifying targets 16x in some cases is just ridiculous, in many cases and bigger is not better imo.
They will hinder at long distance precision shooting but, help me target ID in a CQC situation.
I really love LaRue's Pivot Mount for the Aimpoint Mag.

Doug, as usual is spot on.

That's what I would assume. They were the batteries supplied with the light when purchased new. Just glad I was actually able to deal with humans over the phone, & not some automated or foreign call center in India
