    I hear that.
I've got a Citizen Eco Drive that I wear most of the time, and a crappy no-namer that I wear when I'm doing physical work. I used to buy the $10 Walmart watches when I worked at a tire shop because I'd break about one a month, but now that I've got a lazy man's office job I figured it'd be safe to invest in something a little nicer and more accurate. But it'd break my heart if I broke my $100 watch, haha!

Last deployment I was on (Africa) everyone was wearing Casios. I'm partial to the DW5600 series myself.

I will, If I don't have the compass feature turned on all the time it should make the battery last 3 times longer from what ive read

Post some wrist shots when you get it. I have been interested in this watch as well but my wrists are the same size as a 12 year old girl so I think it may be too big for me.

I've been eyeing the Suunto X-Lander Military watch for over a year now... Keep dropping hints to my GF, but I don't think she is picking them up haha!

I love the compass, altimeter, and barometer features but I'm not sure I'd like how large the watch is. It would be mostly used as field watch out on wildfires... Where knowing altitude and barometric pressure changes could be key types of information. But at the same time, having a watch that doesn't fit under long sleeves or gloves, and gets hung on everything could get in the way.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Suuntos though... Like yall mentioned, the only negative is battery life. And that is easily solved by carrying a spare or two.

Keep us posted on how you like it!

I wear full kit including gloves and the watch isn't too big, im not a big guy either but it is very easy to use with gloved hands, only complaint so far is reading it in NVG's, The backlight drowns it out but im reading the manual trying to figure out a solution to that

He clearly needs a 300-400 dollar analog watch that takes 10 minutes to read even the fuckin' time. DUH

Timex Expedition with paracord band - has served me well forever and still does. //thread

Be prepared to buy a new band in about a year and a half. mine lasted a deployment to Afg, then broke, only swapped the battery twice and it takes about a min to do. had my Suunto for about 4 years now and love it. wear it every day. thanks Gov-x!

I have that watch, but without the solar and radio control, it's 8ish years old now with one battery change so far ... I like it very much.
