I don't think they will, but if I go to a doctor, I want a doctor not a priest deciding what should be done.

How is this any different from not serving black people?

My religion doesn't let me serve black people. Is it okay now?

Its not, many of the same people who founded anti gay religious groups did so after they spent 20 years or more building a career on religious backed racism.

You really should take the time to read what the founding fathers of this country actually had to say about that it will come as quite a shock to you.

I think you have your ideal of separation of church and state backwards. The premise of the separation was to keep religion out of politics. The people that landed here had all ready seen what happens when you don't.

There may not be any one "right" religion but there is only one way into heaven. Just curious...what is your wife devout about and what are Buddhist influences that drive your day to day interactions?

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
The word "separation" seems pretty clear to me. Church stays out of politics and politics stay out of church. I think when the government necessitates Christians abandon their values that's a breach of separation :notsure:

States have laws that say gay couples can't marry because its against christian values. That's a pretty big already existing breach.

Perhaps your religion does not think for instance homosexuality is acceptable mine does not have a problem with it who is the government supposed to listen to? This is why religion has no place in government.

I think freedom OF religion is just as important as freedom FROM religion, and religious discrimination of any kind. That's what the guys who wrote the constitution had in mind.

    Nailed it!

    Very well stated
The decline in our culture and family values, shows the results of these attacks on our faith.
I don't oppose equal rights, or discrimination, but, this has been taken beyond that, with the attack on Christian values.
The media deserves most of the blame, with the constant erosion of boundaries that were originally set up to protect the children from exposure to things like sexuality.

Parents have the right, the obligation to protect and raise their children according to their beliefs.

I personally wish this country could return to the core values that made us strong as a nation
Instead of being told by the media what we need to believe!

    Flame suit on!:crapstorm:

    Yeah.
Maybe people just need to use the freedom we have to practice a little more freedom of thought. Then again, you are free to choose to believe what you are told rather than thinking for yourself. It's so much easier that way.

The sad truth is that the sheep are the majority.

Live, Love, Laugh. And let others do the same.
