All Tacoma case's from 1995.5 to now are 2.57:1 The difference between the FJ Case and the first gen Tacoma Case is the FJ Case is stronger and a bit bigger. It has more webbing on the case to keep it from blowing up front outputs. Things are stupid strong. Love them!!!

It's super rare but I've actually seen a FJ case break. The little foot at the end of the fork shaft broke, possibly from the retaining pin coming out, leaving the truck in 2wd. Was actually able to buy the foot from Toyota so we just rebuilt the case.

We were in a super bad spot, down in tight trail in deep snow, ended up winching out this FJ 80' at a time and a open/open LC as well. Took 5h just to make it to a clearing where we could camp for the night.

Good to know. Thanks guys. Are any parts interchangeable between the two?

Crazy/stupid question, but could you... add more material to strengthen the housing?

The housing is just (cast?) aluminum... it'd be pretty difficult to strengthen that. Buy an atlas :luvya:

It's just a cookie cutter Yota build, but I finally got the runner out of the backyard and washed it. Don't mind the missing headlight

so other than a fuel filter relocation and a small amount of bending the body under the seat it fit great. now time to push that axle forward and lower this thing.
