You can easily fit 285's on there without rubbing. You should be able to clear them as is right now. If not crank them up a few turns and you'll be fine.

Have you tried it on yours? Any more pictures of your truck with the 265/75's on it? That's definitely another option I'm looking at as well as the 255/80's.

I haven't yet but I know a lot of people that have icons/kings/fox's with 285's, hell someone even have 35" tires but that requires cutting of the fenders.. You should be just fine with 285's, the shops around here have offered to test fit a 285 for me and see if it rubs at full lock, if so then crank up the icons half an inch and you'll be good. If i remember correctly they come shipped with 2" of lift so 2.5" you should be good.

Nice suspension setup. I would look into the 255 85 16 if I were you. I really love the size. I have a brand new set of 285 75 16 I am going to use because I got them in a trade but like you I really wanted to avoid the CMC. 255 85 16 are great though. No rubbing for me and I have had them cycled all over the place inside the wheel well.

Let me know when you get the 285's on. I'd love to see a comparison of your 255 setup to your 285 setup. I'm also looking into 265/75. Doesn't seem to be a popular option around here but it seems like a decent middle ground. Wish they made a 265/80.

265/75 are nice as well, just shorter. I didn't have to trim at all with them on stock suspension.

Went with the 255/85/16 ST Maxx and I'm pretty happy with them so far. The shop that mounted them took off a bunch of the plasti-dip around the edge (which I was expecting) but also managed to gouge the hell out of three of my wheels and break one of my TPMS's. 237 bucks to replace the TPMS and I'm getting a quote on how much to fix the wheel....definitely getting the shop to cover all of it. They also did my alignment and I'm not convinced it's right. They said it's 0 and 0 on camber and toe and 2.4 on caster but it seems a bit wobbly still. Best shop ever...anyways the tires are on and look amazing. No road noise at all over stock and aren't rougher riding at all. There is a noticeable difference with handling because of the wider sidewall I think but nothing that is unbearable.

@I3uller ...... I've sat and pondered the 16' AC vs 16' DCSB ... and the problem that comes up is not being able to get a TRD OR with a manual in AC... only in DCSB form.... anyways, I say this because sleeping in the back of my Tacoma is a huge deal... why spend $2K or whatever it is for a RTT? Then, when I want to put my kayak up on top, or if its raining or what not, I can just open the rear window of the camper shell and slip in, and go right to bed. It's a big deal to me to not have to set up a RTT in those elements, as well as taking ON-OFF-ON-ETC- My Kayak, my bike, my whatever.... I think the 16' AC TRD Sport Manual is the compromise, even though I really want the TRD OR AC in a manual, but that isn't happening according to the leaked product sheets of the 16' Tacoma's.

Do you have any things I should consider??.... its such a hard decision not having that manual in the 16' TRD OR AC..... I do like the DC TRD OR but... a SB is really pointless IMO. Yes, you can get a RTT, but then i have to take/on/off/on my kayak, etc. Am I the only one with this dilemma Tacoma World People? Some one has to have a similar train of thought process..... Or I need some serious help. I can't get past it.

While I do like having the manual, I really wouldn't mind having an automatic. It's much easier to crawl over stuff with an automatic and it's just generally more convenient. If the OR is really important to you, you could consider just going with the auto. Then again the OR really isn't all that different besides some suspension which you will likely change out anyways like I did. Up to you, just depends on what's the most important. I wasn't aware that you couldn't get an AC OR in manual anymore with the 16. Glad I got my 14 when I did.

Haha I definitely did and your name looks very familiar. You had an E36 right? I had that grey M50 swapped E30.

Oh ya that's right, yea I was in Ventura. Thanks for the kind words, decided to go with something a little more practical.

I think you've helped me decide on the ARE CX.. I love the framed window look as opposed to the larger glass area on some of the other models.
