Sorry fellas but I'm NOT going to be able to make it. Its an 11 hour drive and I will spend about $180 just in gas money+the hotel (campsite, etc.)

if it gets cold i might head to the cab. idk i'll be inside two sleeping bags plus will have a blanket just incase. both of them are rated to like 15 i think, so i should be fine. i've slept in the bed of my truck a couple of times and had no problems...but this is when it was like 65 at night..

the girl i was expecting to bring along is like a 99.9% no go.

im kinda glad though because, for some reason, i dont see her enjoying spending 3 nights in the bed of a pickup with no electricity, running water....basically nothing at all except for a fire and a hole in the ground to shit in.

    and mass amounts of alcohol.

heres the food i plan on bringing.

breakfast: big box of poptarts from costco (3 mornings)

lunch: loaf of bread, squeeze pb & j (3 or 4 afternoons)

dinner: canned food (chili, spaghettios, etc.) (3 nights)

going to cost like max of $40 for 12 meals. not bad imo.

the whole 5 tanks of gas total is going to suck though. stupid 1000+ mile round trip!

i might be headed to raleigh on the monday after the trip, so add another tank of gas.

16mpg kinda sucks for long road trips lol. i go 250 miles before i gas up :/

probably going to be a solid 70 or so gallons of gas used during the weekend. it'll be worth it though, thats for damn sure!

yeah, i got a couple 0 degree bags so me and my lady should be ok. she's cool and doesn't mind roughing it and doesn't complain but it would be kinda nice to be alone so i didnt have to set up a tent. if she weren't there i'd be a little more bare bones and i'd sleep in the bed or the cab. oh well

Mom: When are you going down to visit that girl in NC?
Me: Thrus Oct 22 til possibly monday the 26th. I'm also going to go to a truck meet in the woods.
    Mom: Whaa?
    Me: Yup.
Mom: You're skipping two days of class then?
    Me: Yup.
Mom: Alright just make sure that you dont have anything due in your classes.
