Haven't put any updates in here lately. So I blew a pinion bearing due to an improper install and the re-use of a crush sleeve. I got a new bearing and a solid spacer to do it the right way.

Got it put back together. Coast pattern:

You can clearly see where the pinion was running wrong after the bearing came apart and produced some uneven wear on the face of the tooth. I'm taking a gamble and am going to run it since the pattern is very close. Hoping that since they are still new gears they will still wear together pretty good. I figured I had 2 options... replace the gears now ($450) or take a chance and maybe get lucky but worst case scenario they break and I buy gears anyways so the way I see it I have nothing to lose.

Picked up some metal to make diff guards front and rear, longer shackles for the rear, and some square tube to mount ballistic creeper joints in for the rear shackles.

And I got some other goodies

I just read the entire build, truck is badass! How are you going to shape the metal for the diff guards? A brake?

Shakedown run went pretty well! I need to make a gasket for the cap on the fuel cell and fix the rear o2 sensor but other than that no issues so far.

Loving it so far! Fuel injection is nice, much roomier, and it has gobs of power compared to before. I full out powerslid/drifted it coming out of the park on to the paved road haha. The only downside so far is the difference turning radius. I had to pull 3 point turns in places I didn't have to before. And yea... that's as close as I've been to flopping lol. Was a little bit tippy there :p

Why is the turning ratio so bad? RCV's are like 40* steering lol

Wheelbase is 23" longer than I'm used to haha. I also have my steering stops limiting it some because the rock rings contact the knuckle gussets

That's cool, better than not wheeling at all!

After my shakedown run this weekend I'm ready to start chopping the IFS off, it will be very similar to your taco actually.

Gear head I looked and didn't find it, but is your 60 diff housing notched for the leaf perches?

Doesn't look like anything is notched. From the best I can tell everything was cut off the axle and just had a perch welded on

Awesome, that's what i wanted to hear!! I'm picking up a 60/62 axle this weekend, and that saves me a weekend of fab time not having to notch the housing like you do swapping one into a mini truck..

Yeah the perch width is a little bit wider than a mini truck which is what I assume you're talking about. The inside of the perch needs to be clearanced to sit level which is something whoever put mine on failed to do...
