Thanks, it was a lot of work, but worth it to me to save the $2-3k.

Got my spindle materials for the swingout in this week, using a 1.25" bolt, bronze bushings, and 2" OD .25" wall DOM leftover from the revised lower links. This should hold up pretty well I am thinking. I went with the SAE 863 bronze bushing over the standard Oilite version due to a higher steel content making it stronger, also why it is not as copper colored as other bronze bushings. Full part list minus the DOM below, ~$60 shipped from McMaster Carr.

    1 2938T63 SAE 863 Bronze Flanged-Sleeve Bearing, for 1-1/4" ID, 1-1/2" OD X 1-1/2" L X 1-3/4" Flangeod

    2 90648A260 Extra-Wide Nylon-Insert Locknut, Zinc-Plated Steel, 1-1/4"-7 Thread Size, 2" Wide, packs of 1

    3 90126A040 Zinc-Plated Steel SAE Flat Washer, 1-1/4" Screw Size, 1.375" ID, 2.500" OD, packs of 6

    4 91268A225 High-Strength Grade 8 Steel Cap Screw, 1-1/4"-7 Thread, 6-1/2" Long, Uncoated, packs of 1

That doesn't look like it will be going anywhere. Are you just going to weld two tabs to the main part of your bumper to run the bolt through?

I have to question the use of glass James...

That's just going to break on the trail.
I hope it's at least tempered.

I know you advised against this bushing type, but I feel pretty confident after doing additional research, we will see.

What you didn't see was that it was previously filled with malty beverage, increasing it's trail use capacity by a factor of 10, clearly suitable for this application :p

I decided to go with the Synergy latch as well, a bit more costly than the alternatives, but seems like a solid choice with 270* capture of the latch.

Makin moves the past few weeks.

Chopped off the mutilated rear LCA mounts and burned in some 1/4" RuffStuff ones. Instead of frenching them into the frame, trimmed off some of the top of the mount to allow it to mount higher up. These guys should be able to take a beating. Also finished Gen II of the lower links.

Did some basic maintenance, drain and fill tranny and T case, then reinstalled freshly painted skids and the bumper. Did some major rework on the gas tank skid, should be much more durable now, and trimmed to avoid contact with the drive shaft.

In an effort to get the front end fully dialed, ordered some adjustable clevises to add limit straps, need to get measured and order the straps prior to burning the tabs on. On the other end of the stroke, got some Wheelers Super Bumps. Pulled the springs on the coilovers by compressing them on the truck, then using ratchet straps to hold them compressed, then unload the coilover from the weight of the truck, worked great. Did not finish setting them up yesterday, I need to get some longer bolts for the bumps as I am going to need a fair amount of spacers to keep the shocks from bottoming. Here I have the Super Bump and the Dirt King spacer installed, I am thinking another 3/8" of spacer or so will be needed.

I realized I did not have the spring mount in there, that will add another 1/4" or so to the bump height.

    Thanks!

Yeah, they were barely holding on there . . . Definitely were not going to make it through another summer.
