Hello, I recently purchased a 2015 DCLB MGM. I've been thinking of ordering a Leer 100XQ cap but I'm not sure if there will be enough airflow for my dog. Do any 100XQ owners out there have some feedback for me. I only plan on having the dog back there while driving. I won't be leaving him in there while parked. I've tried to google this but the answers are pretty contradictory.

i have an XQ and 2 dogs. if you open the cap windows plus fronts sliders and crack the rear cab windows, you should have plenty of airflow. I rode in the bed with the wife driving and its pretty comfortable. I haven't tried it in our summer 100+ degree summers though. I may add a 12v fan at the sliders this summer, if needed.

    A bed mat helps too.

My wife rode back there once and she survived. She did say she was sweating back there though.

Thanks for the reply. Are you sure you have the XQ? It has crank out windows not sliders. They only crank out a couple of inches from what I've seen.

Mine is too hot for the dogs. However, I dont have a front slider just a solid piece of glass. I think a slider/flip down front window would help a lot as far as air flow.

Front slider open and side windows cracked and it provides enough airflow for my two dogs while traveling in the summer months. If you had a solid front window it might be an issue.

    going to be fun!
I had a Leer 100XL on my 10 Ranger with my German Sherpard in the back all the time never any issue.

But if there was he would bark and put his head through the slider then I knew he wa pissed and wanted up front.

Cool, I'll be ordering an XQ shortly. Thank you all for the great info!

Now I understand what you meant by the sliders DanceswithWolves, I misunderstood the first time. I'm a noob to this site and to truck caps...
