    Hello group,

Look at this Vid and please give me some input. It's the same on both sides.
    http://s1056.photobucket.com/user/TACRUN1/media/11E10056-8851-4838-9798-1F714F95FB14.mp4.html

I had to replace my LCA's in January, 2015.
A former co-worker of mine welded beads behind my alignment tabs WITHOUT removing my original LCA's. I had Toyota of North Miami do the work & he gave me half of the money. Fair enough.

Ever since then, when I braked I can see my left front tire move. Then I saw that both front tires move. Besides that, if I hit speed bumps at moderate speed they both make a loud metal-on-metal banging sound.

I took it to the dealership today & they told me to take it back on Thursday when their "lift experienced" tech is there. I explained that Spindles won't affect that and the problem started after the LCA's were installed.

Can both LCA bushings be defective?

    Thanks group!

Video issue has been fixed. Sorry about that.

The bolts are very tight. I thought, and hoped, the same thing at first. The dealership even told me that they retorqued it.

Maybe the bushings got melted a bit leading to some room for play

Yes. That's what happened to my original LCA's. These are the ones that Toyota installed 2 months ago. Actually. My original ones with the burned Bushings weren't as bad as these.

A mechanic somewhere else told me the same but Toyota did acknowledge that it's excessive. Plus, when I go, I hooe to see another Tacoma there & I'll ask them to show me the play on that truck.

I was not looking at it close enough after watching the video again i saw it was moving WAY too much. Which I why I deleted my post.

But those should be covered by Toyota since a dealer installed them. Have them repaired by the dealer. If the original installing dealer wont play ball go somewhere else.

If the LCA bolts were tightened with the suspension at full droop rather than loaded, they could well have failed already. The bolts must be left loose until the truck is supported by the suspension, otherwise an excessive amount of torsion will be applied to the rubber at full compression, tearing the rubber or it's bond to the steel sleeve within the bushing.

I may have to go that route.

Yes. I saw the old parts.

Really? Damn. Well, if that's the case then it will explain why both have so much play.

    yup that will do it.

OP if the dealer installed take it back and have them do it right... noting the suspension should be loaded before tightening.
