Don't forget cost of fabbing for option 1. Wouldn't think it would be much but it is an extra cost.

Also ive always found it weird how much more expensive King factory rear shocks are compared to icon and fox. Icon 2.0 with RR's are ~500 vs 800 for kings. Fox is more than the icons but less than kings (and not as common!)

As for sliders, bumpers, ect I cant recommend pelfybuilt enough. Great customer service and great people. Call or email them to get the best deals. But theres plenty of other great companies too, cbi, 4x4, ect.

and if anyone needs anything from SoCal brought up to save shipping just let me know. As for of now ill be headed home mid 4/16 and be home 4/17. Hopefully DSM has my rear shocks rebuilt by then Oo

True, can't imagine it'd be more than 2 hours of labor.. Unless you have a friend to do it for free.

The reason they are so much more expensive is because they are 2.5, not 2.0 like the icons/fox's.. Which you can get icons in 2.5's but they are over $900. King just doesn't make a factory 2.0 shock for tacomas

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
As much as I love the added shock, I don't now how much of a difference it'll make from a 2.0 to a 2.5. We don't drive in the desert. We don't take whoops. All our stuff is slow and technical where we shouldn't get them hot.

What's wrong with those guys? They seemed more helpful than SDHQ over the phone and response has been good around the forums from what I had seen...

My big gripe is King's so-called customer service. Everyone says they are top notch, but I've been waiting a week for a callback on what should be a fairly simple question for their tech department.

Twice on the phone he put me on hold to take another call (while taking my order) and would come back on 2 minutes later.. Then i had to call BAMF to find out what size spacer I needed, called them back and asked for Micah and all I hear is him yelling and screaming at someone in the background.. Not very professional IMO.

I've never had to call King yet but hopefully you just had bad luck, hope yours gets figured out soon!

Im glad im not the only one who hasn't had the best of customer service with DSM. Wouldn't say it was bad, but my experiences weren't leaving me feeling like i'd ever come back to them.

For my icons to be rebuilt I sent a pm to them on these forums. Also sent a message via their website. The website was quick to respond and I called and talked to one guy. Quoted me all the prices and time frames. Told him i'd bring them by after I got off work. Stopped in and apparently that guy was gone. Two other guys sitting at computers (there "office" is just a small room with three desks pretty much). Walked in with my shocks and took them a good minute or two to even acknowledge me. (they weren't on the phone or typing away). Then to help me the guy didn't even move from his chair so he was a good 10 feet away as I told him what I needed done (new shafts and a rebuild). Took the shocks and that was it. I said thanks and walked out. Really left feeling like a nobody to them and like someone they would rather not deal with. Thankfully the email guy called me a bit later. He was ordering new shafts and noticed I had custom length shafts so wanted to confirm things with me. Then I get home from work and got a response to my pm on here which all it said was "you were just here". I dunno why it sound left even more of an unappreciated feeling. Would have been just as easy to to say Glad we could help you in person or something along those lines That was all ~3 weeks ago so we will see how it goes when I go to pick them up in person hopefully in the next few days.

I dunno I guess people ad always talked highly of them and how great there customer service is. Then I go to experience it and its pretty mediocre. I probably wont use them again just cause ive gotten better CS from places like Wheeler's and pelfybuilt and they can get me everything DSM can and usually get close to the same pricing.

They don't sell Kings. I am now looking at SDHQ or Rebel. Kinda sucks there's not a local dealer.

Wheelers can get them but it won't be a good price, I asked for my front coil overs.

I have been there a couple of times..... twice on my quad once in a buddies jeep..... and twice attempted in my truck. Last year we went a little too soon and about a month ago I tried again with some work friends. We thought because of the mild winter we would get there in early March.... not so much!! Very little snow but ALOT of ICE!!! I imagine in the next month or so there should be no reason you couldn't make it!

We take Rock Creek Road off of HWY 410..... about a 1HR drive up from the road1. Whistling Jacks is a little bit past the FSR but a good point to meet, fuel up, air down, and grab some grub!!

I know there is quit a few bypass trails through woods that would get you there but its narrow and rutted out, don't recommend anyone stock going to far.... there are some narrow spots with trees around tight corners. Local Maps from gas stations are totally Helpful.... just my 2cents!

I would still give DSM a try if you are looking for kings. They can do good pricing. I just wont use them again since I run Icons. The mediocre customer service just didn't compare to Wheeler's CS so when having the option between the two for Icons I chose the CS I preferred.

You should still give them a try. Or at least call on the phone and see how it goes for you. Its what I always do even when others say a company isn't that great. Put out a feeler yourself and see how it goes and make the choice on your own!

I have plenty of places I wont spend my money for one reason or another. But each one is from my own beliefs or experiences. I never base choices solely on what someone writes on the internet :)

Just got a call back from Jerry and he said he's hoping to ship out All shock relocations tomorrow, he was just missing a few parts for the kits.

Yeah I'm done taking Bypasses through trees hahaha. But is Funny rocks definitely a slider-necessary trail? A lot of people here don't have sliders yet... :/
Probably gonna go through them. I called Wheelers and I'm still waiting on a call back...

Wow, so much progress today for me :)

As I said, I sent an email (and a followup email, and a call) to King for some product advice, but heard nothing (this was over a week ago). I forwarded my email via PM to Rebel Offroad, and they answered me in about 1 hour via phone with advice. :)
They did a second follow-up asking if I had considered Fox instead - for nearly the same price as the King setup, I can do Fox with the DSC adjusters on all corners. :drevil:

As Brian said, there's a bit more cost over DSM, but man they have customer service in the bag, and they know the products. I just need to make a product decision now!

Nope, not at all. It's all dependent on the trail you take to get there. One of the trails is an easy peasy one that gets you in quick, and then you are there on the rocks. You can play for a few hours, but it's not a trail, just an area.
