    I tried to read all forty-nine pages, but probably missed it;

    Which Eco-Block for a 2015 Tacoma 4x4 with 4.0L V6?

Wow, this thread... Been lurking since page 15, and reading intently. Went through all the stages of ridicule, skepticism, denial, and optimism before finally caving and buying one. I must say, Quirt, you have been superb in answering all of our questions (pretty much immediately, I might add), fielding any criticism or skepticism, and being super helpful and knowledgeable on this very controversial product. It seems Crawford is very dedicated to their work, and their customers. It's kind of funny that so much conversation can be had over a tiny piece of plastic.

That being said, I have a gripe with the diameter of the Eco-Block. The MAF sensor has an O-Ring that seals to the inner wall of the Eco-Block, but as it stands, the Eco-block seems to be something like a millimeter too big for the O-Ring to seal. I think this was addressed earlier in the thread, with the argument that if it doesn't throw a code, it's okay. Here is a video I took of how much of a gap exists:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D562OPb6Rug

I installed it anyways, but I'm not very comfortable leaving it on permanently, especially since we tend to see inclement conditions in our trucks. Just wanted to know your thoughts on this.

First impression of the EB: I maybe feel a difference in power? I didn't really expect to notice anything, as I tend to ignore the placebo effect on minor mods like this. I'll run a few tanks of fuel and report back, as I'm in it for the MPGs.

It's funny how OP pretty much created an account only for this thread that totally blew up, and now he's completely gone.

    Subbed.

So... with a few comments now about the extra play and lack of a toight fit, is there likely to be an adjustment in Q1's size or would you be throwing a thicker o-ring?

    Thanks

Cool video. Hope it helps some people... But, could it not be cause your truck is 9 years old? Maybe the oring has shrunk a bit. I imagine if you wound something around the maf underneath the oring to essentially expand it a tad that may help. Maybe just a thicker oring in general. All just ideas. as this is a good video in my eyes. Allows people to maybe make a more informed decision.

I just put a very thin coat of Hylomar on the o-ring. Sealed it and keeps it in place...

Hey sachou, thanks for posting your video. This is exactly what I saw and mentioned back in post #835. There is too much play between both parts. My plan was to remove the o-ring and head to NAPA to try and find a larger version but haven't had the chance. I suspect that air is leaking past mine since I only saw a .5 mpg increase where everyone else is seeing a 1-2 mpg increase.

Thanks for taking this video, what you are showing / seeing is unacceptable for sure. Could you do me a favor and either measure how far your Oring protrudes from the housing of the sensor or put a strait edge up against the Oring and take a photo to show the distance between the strait edge and the sensor housing? I basically need to know how much bigger the diameter of your Oring is compared to the sensor housing.

I will do these same measurements today in an effort to see if your Oring is small from old age or if our EB has too large of an inner diameter.

Just to help with this (I am not currently experiencing any CEL issues), both our 14' & 15' Tacoma's with less than 8000 miles each have the same poor fitment issues so I doubt that age of the O'ring is issue. I use dielectric grease to very thinly coat both O'rings since the fitment was rather loose. I wouldn't trust it to ford any water though.

I think the inner diameter of the eco block is off just a bit. However; rather than retooling the entire operation it would be easier to just include an additional "heaver gage/thicker" O'ring with the eco block so that it provides a proper seal.

Both of our test units fit snugly in the Eco Block but they also both have new orings on them. That said, we will be happy to send out new orings to anyone that is concerned about the seal, just send an email to our sales department and we will send one your way.

Yeah, I guess it seems like the O-Ring is a little bit inconsistent in thickness. 4th pic is with no O-Ring. But I still feel like the EB could have been a little smaller in diameter.

Agreed, with a new Oring it is fine but with a used Oring I need to make the EB with a smaller ID. Thanks for the photos :D
