What was your launching rpm? I could see you bogging just a little at take-off.

    What is your boost psi?

    What was your tire pressure?

Have you ever seen Super Werty's track videos? On of his methods, was to switch out of 4wd during 3rd or 4th gear. Torspd would also launch in 4wd , and would switch out of 4Hi between the 3rd o 4th gear shift.

Just trying to figure out why your time was a 14.6, as it could be much quicker.

its just OUCH!!! I dont care what vehicle you are in a launch or two like that snaps shit. this is why im pretty sure torspd and super werty both run auto's much easier and better launches.

Launching by ear. Maybe 3,000? 8 PSI boost. 35 PSI in the tires. I was expecting 14.80s so I was happy with the 14.60s. Didn't wanna chance breaking anything switching out of 4HI under full power. Bangs pretty hard when you do that. I was just out to have fun.

Super Werty's is auto, but Torspd's truck is manual.

If you are happy that is all that matters.

Being that you had 4wd launch, 35 is ok. 28 - 30 would be better, but it would take testing to see which psi works best.

In the end, your truck, your baseline, your satisfaction.

Haha thanks! I actually kept the tire pressure high because I wanted the tires to spin a little to lessen the shock on the drivetrain on the launch.

    CHEVERLY my service dog! Lol
Not bad. Love the sound of the SC. Good for a truck I guess. Never ran the quarter in one. My '95 Honda civic would do 14 flat so I guess with a heavy truck that's good.. Guessing

What does it weigh? My registration says 4160 lbs. I just took that and added my weight for a rough estimate.

Take it to a truck stop, or landscape materials place, ans throw it on the scale. The way you did it isn't accurate.

Probably not much more than that, with stock wheels and tires. My dclb 4x4 with supercharger scaled at 4500 with myself and 3/4 tank of gas. If I ran light on gas, took the spare and tailgate off Im sure I'd be at 4400.

Had you tried launching in 2wd with or with traction control? Curious what the difference in 1/4 time might be. Give some up on the launch but maybe a faster trap speed? Thanks for sharing!

i know on my buddies SC'd taco, if he launches in 2wd not as abruptly as he can in 4wd (hes an auto) he still gets some tire spin but his 0-60 ends up being faster.

I just light the tires in 2WD. Can be way more aggressive in 4WD. ET is made in the first 1/8. I just dump the clutch and slam gears no pedaling whatsoever. :)

Reduce rear tire pressure to 25psi for better traction. Much lower than that and you will see more rolling resistance at the end of your run. Make sure fronts are set to at least 35psi for better control and a psi or two more wouldn't hurt in the rolling resistance department. Put your truck in 2hi. Launch at a lower RPM so you don't get wheel spin off of the line. Keep in mind that running in 4hi will eat up about 10-15% MORE horsepower than 2wd so your trap speed should go up a few mph. With a well prepped track w/VHT and figuring out your best launch I fully believe you will see better time/speed if you do that. I still have no idea why people insist on running 4wd in a quarter mile... it's not the same thing as AWD and our trucks don't make enough power for that power lost to parasitic drag not an issue.
