    haha, I've barely gotten started here. There's a lot of stuff on the horizon, but I don't just want to be uploading 3d models to show off, so I'll be saving most of the previews until I have a finished product to show off.

    One thing I will hint at is there will be very big changes to my iPad kits. There will be an even higher level of quality and I'm working on lowing the total cost for getting an iPad to be a viable source unit for any stereo configuration in our trucks and other vehicles, as well.

    Mounted a prototype today. Hand painted the letters just to get the look I'm going for. Production models will not require painting, but will be clear coated for protection. I may decide to only sell illuminated models of these.

    I hope you don't decide to sell just illuminated, I really want that front black emblem with the red trd.

    If you want to sell the prototype let me know :)

    Me too. Believe me, hahah. Those are pretty tricky to make but once I experiment with some new filaments and settings for my printer I'll make a test piece for that idea and then move on to a full set of letters.

    So just as a quick update;

    It will be at least a month before these things start to become available. I'm waiting on some fancy new parts for my 3d printer that will make a huge difference in quality control and make these products even easier to make.

    For anyone that is interested, the parts I'm waiting for are pretty exciting (for me, at least) so I'll share a little bit about them.

    I currently have a dual-extruder head for my printer, purchased at the same time as I ordered the printer. This piece allows me to print two types of filament on the same job. That means I can print two different colors of plastic onto the same piece which is very useful for making complex/colored parts and not having to paint them. Until finishing the designs for these emblems, I have not had a need for it, and I have not installed it. Sure enough, a better one with major improvements will be available in about a month, so I'm sending my current one back and exchanging it for the new one. The new one will allow me to print at 300 degrees Celsius as opposed to 240, and is made from mostly metal, resolving some "heat related issues" as described by the manufacturer. This will improve print quality and bonding between layers for stronger, more uniform objects.

    Also, for the illuminated products, there is a new electrically conductive filament available. This is probably the most exciting thing I've come across since buying this printer. This means I can print the electronic circuitry INTO the piece itself and not have to manually route wires and solder connections on a miniature scale. This will make it much easier to integrate the LEDs with my designs and assemble them. Thanks to this development, I will likely expand lighting accents and specialty lighting parts into many of my upcoming products / designs.

    It also means that I will be able to make special, full seal electronic connectors for parts that require moisture / vapor resistant seals (hint hint).

    I've already got a guinea pig for those... ME hahah XD

    But yeah, I think those would compliment any grill. I want to make a smaller set, as well. Like the FJ sized ones.

    I'm considering offering to make custom badges, as well.

    Sooooooo when are you going to do the big 3d instructional/how to thread that you told me you wanted to do???? Ok so you never really told me that but I leave it to you to disprove it. Doing the thread would just be easier and I will drop my claims.

    Could you make the TRD bigger. It would extend past the oval mounting plate but be attached.

    There's no good way of doing that unless I printed it in 3 pieces instead of 2. I don't think that would be worth it. Each piece takes about 2 hours to print.
