That is way over priced considering i got a sr5 premium third row for 37k otd. after spending 3k in wheels/tires and icon lift. i was at 40k. The one listed is just a sr5 with navi. cost is roughly 33k otd stock..

 

That's what I was thinking. Can't believe they were asking that much and my wife doesn't care the cost cuz it looks good. Some Clown will buy it. I'm happy with my taco.

 

Gonna get more opinions from my home state: what would you do?

1. King 2.5 ext travel remotes front and back, 700lb spring front
2. Same setup, but Fox with compression adjusters all around for $180 more

I'm still thinking King, but I never paid attention to Fox when researching.

 

King. I'm not a fan of fox because of their crappy coating, plus I think kings look cooler. Both are probably similar.

Lol fair enough. They are both a progressive coilover so that's good. If you said fox or icon I would say fox. Progressive ftw! Okay I'll shut up now

 

X2 with King, if you'd like Mike ill be more than happy to take you for a ride and you can feel how my kings feel. Fox has a crappy coating and unless you get the extra clear coat for $100 more then they will rust. Plus King looks sexier

I'm into crawling. I want mushy in the beginning.

 

I don't go off road where I go in the "harsh zone", I want soft and mushy for crawling and fs roads, soaks up the bumps way better.

 

I'm not really worried about ride feels. I endure daily drives. Pavement exists for the sole purpose of getting me to the good stuff. I've ridden in icon and SAW setups, anything at that price point is going to start kicking butt

I was leaning Kings anyway. I mean, I might have to show brand loyalty at some point, and I'm so much more comfortable wearing a burger king hat instead of a furry costume

 

If someone could actually feel the difference between the 2 i would be impressed. But I'm not lying to myself either... my truck is not a rock crawler, its daily driver and FS road explorer.

 

I need to ride in yours again now thats your icons are broken in and see how it is compared to mine.

 

Finally getting an alignment on Friday. Ever since i installed the COs the truck has been harder to keep between the lines on the freeway. Might be the missing sway bar too

 

Maybe a little bit but should mainly be your alignment. When you getting duratracs?

 

Right after I get Dakars, AAL, and Icon shocks for the rear. About to order that shit from wheelers very soon. Then another Mod Day at the old mans shop

 

Agreed. I have Icon's with digressive valving AND kings with progressive valving on the same A-arm. The icon's alone are nice for a mid travel rig, but on an LT set up when pushed hard they really need a secondary shock. At the time, Icon didn't have anything in the catalog for my application...but King did. To be honest, it's mostly hype and it's far more important to have proper spring rates and valving. That said, Icon really makes a great off the shelf product valved right for 99% of us yota guys. Personally, I think the kings could use a little tweaking right out of the box, especially if you have a heavy front bumper. It's no big deal really, but something to consider. I think fox is not the best quality (for this application, their race shocks are fantastic), but some people really like the stickers.

 

haha, In all seriousness I went fox due to a killer deal that I couldn't pass up. The finish sucks but Boeshield T-9 takes care of that. If $ wasn't an issue I would have gone for Kings no question.
