I agree. The jeep is worth more. I wouldn't pay more then 4k for that truck but I'd much rather have it then a jeep
Yeah approach angle. I was looking at it last night. I'll post some pics of what I'm looking at doing but it seems easy enough. I can cut the front crossbar at the frame which takes away 4 1/4". The only thing it does is mount the ifs skid and lower bolts on the bumper. So cut it off and weld a new piece of square tubing across it. That's done. Then cut off the stock skid mounting points and the big bumpstop looking piece of metal in the center between the front diff braces. That way I could modify my skid and move it up about 1" and reattach it to the new crossbar. Then I'll have to work on the bumper

Dirty 30 chromoly axles. And he messaged me this morning and told me it has almost 200k miles, 90k on motor, and bill of sale only. The bill of sale only scares me into thinking it might be stolen. But there's a guy interested in the jeep for 11k cash soooo...

From a finance point of view no title no deal. Fuck that bill of sale shit.

Chances are he bought it a wreck and re did it or more likely he has a fucking title loan and never paid it.

What did he do? That same thing? I think I could actually modify the brute force bumper but I'm not sure yet. I need to get a few measurements. What I was thinking was if I can modify it pretty easily, basically 2 cuts on the stock crossbar then weld the new bar in, and build a bumper to fit it then I would have a front bumper to sell as well. It would kinda be like buying a high clearance rear. If you want the extra clearance then you have to be willing to modify stock stuff. Someone would buy the front bumper and front crossbar knowing that they would have to cut and weld

What are y'alls thoughts on Goodyear Duratracs 285? I just recently purchased Terra Grappler G2 265 last month and I am kicking myself in the ass for not buying 285s to begin with. Found the Duratracs locally for $800.

Grip for days, ride like shit, I've not seen sidewalls tear personally but have seen a lot of people on here swear they are super weak.

Honestly I'm not overly impressed with Goodyear tires period. I have MTR's they are quiet and ride great and tread life seems somewhat decent but I only have about 5 k on them.

I had duratracs, g force super sports (mustang). Both rode like shit. And wore quick. The duratracs didn't really wear bad but rode so bad they had to be replaced. But within 10k they were half worn

Kurt has duratracs for his off road set. He likes them. They seem to do pretty good on the trails and have a shit load a sipping which really helped him out on this last trip. Haha
BILLIONS!!!!!!!! Haha but calm down there sparky. It's just an idea at the moment. Although it's an idea that doesn't seem far from reality. Ok so since you said something, let me ask you ........ If I built a bumper, we'll just say like the one I have now for a reference, and I was selling it for a good price ($500-$700) and it gives you over 4" more ground clearance and greatly increases your approach angle while still maintaining a winch carrier and everything else a different bumper would provide but the only way you can mount it is to cut your front crossbar off your frame and weld on a new one, knowing that once you do this you can never return to a stock front end, would you still buy it or would you buy one with similar looks that just bolts on?

I'm thinking about making my current one into something more like a hybrid :spy: don't tell Kari :spy:

realistically, as far as for resale, I'd stick to bolt on. but if you're not planning on getting rid of your truck, I'd say go for it. you'd be considered a pioneer for others thinking of doing the same thing.

See this is the thinking of most other people. Most people say "bolt on so when I sell it I can put everything back to stock". For me at this point, it doesn't matter if I plan on selling it or not. I've got welded on sliders, cut half my bedsides off, can't put a spare tire in the stock spot anymore, cut the only stock tow hook off, welded my exhaust on, welded new rear shock mounts on, have no fender lining, hacked the front fender wells up, cut pieces off of where the stock skid mounted, have no radio antenna, have fiberglass fenders that I drilled new holes for, cut and welded and relocated my battery, relocated my stock fuse box, removed my horn, un-soldered lights out of my dash, etc ......... Why would modifying the front end change anything? See where I'm goin with this? Thats the answer for y'all because you haven't reached the point of no return. That's why I mentioned the high clearance rear. If you have one then you reached that point as well. If you don't then you probably aren't willing to cut up your front either

I'm approaching the point of no return. Pretty much have hit that point in my mind but I'm still at the point where I could return to stock if need be.
